SAHARAN VIBE: May 2010

http://saharanvibe.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Passion, patience, and perfection. Are the three things that come to mind when viewing the breath taking and stunning photos by Michael Poliza. I am a great fan of Michael's picturesque work. He possesses the unique ability to capture stunning images with such skill and grace. Michael Poliza's work serves as constant reminder of the true beauty that is Africa, ever so rich and diverse. That expedition over, he returned to the continent that had stolen his heart: Africa. His b...

SAHARAN VIBE: December 2010

http://saharanvibe.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Fanta a griot singing at an engagement party. The husband-to-be brings cola beans to the family of the wife-to-be, and then goes off somewhere else. This is apparently always the procedure: the couple to be wedded are never present at the festivities. So also here. The men are somewhere else, and all the women are gathered to distribute the cola nuts. The griots sing pretty words about different people at the party, who then stick money in their hands. Griots of West Africa.

Thinking Kim: Traffic Chaos & Boda Boda Madness

http://thinking-kim.blogspot.com/2009/09/traffic-chaos-boda-boda-madness.html

Every so often particularly if you are about 35 you get the irk to publish something. After all, if you don't, the next 35 come by fast. Think about it. Thursday, September 17, 2009. Traffic Chaos and Boda Boda Madness. Now that I have "settled" back to routine, I have taken some time to reflect on my travel to both NBO (Nairobi) and EBB (Entebbe). It's only fair that I echo Ssem's. How could a (2) lane in Thika Rd turn into a (6) lane California highway? Distaste and loathing is just an understatement.

Every so often particularly if you are about 35 you get the irk to publish something. After all, if you don't, the next 35 come by fast. Think about it. Thursday, January 08, 2009. What a difference one week makes! You may recall that one of my goals last year was to add some meat on bones. Everyone it seemed, had resolved. To exercise this new year. Some walked in, signed up, paid up and even exercised in their clothes! Amazing how January 1 affects people minds. On Thursday, January 08, 2009. Links - Y...

Every so often particularly if you are about 35 you get the irk to publish something. After all, if you don't, the next 35 come by fast. Think about it. Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Joy to the world! It's only fitting that I blog before the year comes to a close. This year has indeed been a year of jubilee for us. The. יובל) year, is the year at the end of a seven cycles. As the year comes to a close I can only marvel at how fast it whisked by. Between the Kenyan election violence. Links to this post.

Thinking Kim: Trick Treat Wow

http://thinking-kim.blogspot.com/2009/10/trick-treat-wow.html

Every so often particularly if you are about 35 you get the irk to publish something. After all, if you don't, the next 35 come by fast. Think about it. Saturday, October 31, 2009. Every year, this day happens. When I first experienced it, I thought everyone was nuts. I couldn't figure out what all the hoopla was about. Why would a little kid want to dress like some fire-breathing monster? Well over the years, the tradition catches me nostalgia. What is it you ask? On Saturday, October 31, 2009.

saharan wilderness | of life's deserts, winds and storms

Of life's deserts, winds and storms. I thought of you. August 3, 2014 – 2:41 am. 8211; by American poet Sarah Teasdale. I thought of you and how you love this beauty,. And walking up the long beach all alone. I heard the waves breaking in measured thunder. As you and I once heard their monotone. Around me were the echoing dunes, beyond me. The cold and sparkling silver of the sea —. We two will pass through death and ages lengthen. Before you hear that sound again with me. August 3, 2014 – 2:31 am. O mot...
