http://svsolstice.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Voyage of the Solstice. Postings from the crew of the Solstice. Thursday, November 25, 2010. La Palma: repairs, tapas, volcano, and wine. At this point it still looks like we’ll be leaving La Palma. In the morning, so I’d better write about this place before we go on to new experiences. We’ve enjoyed our time here, but haven’t done all that much. Besides hanging out with Jim we’ve been doing some stuff with another couple from California: Mike and Linda on Aquila. Who knew the Atlantic was so blue. On ou...

Voyage of the Solstice: April 2011
http://svsolstice.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Voyage of the Solstice. Postings from the crew of the Solstice. Saturday, April 30, 2011. Sint Maarten and St. Croix. Based on the recommendation of a couple of charter captains, we decided to go to Philipsburg in Dutch Sint Maarten rather than Simpson Bay. The primary motivation was to avoid the anchorage fees, but I also wanted to stop in at a Dutch-speaking island. There are Dutch-speaking people in Philipsburg, but the lingua franca. Voyage of the Solstice. Postings from the crew of the Solstice. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. It’s very nice to be back at Yacht Port Cartagena. We arrived on Friday, which was a local holiday celebrating the defeat of the Carthaginians by the Romans in 226 B.C. That meant that the office and stores were closed, but the marinaros. Voyage of the Solstice. Postings from the crew of the Solstice. Sunday, January 23, 2011. When our friends on Jinja. And what a beautiful island! Wild north point with Liat and Assaf. On our own the next day we visited the Mount Gay Rum factory and enjoyed a tasting. Mount Gay was our rum of choice when we did a bareboat charter in the BVI a few years ago, so it was on our must-see list. We also left well supplied at a good price, thanks to a tip from friends on Juno. Ahead of us in a downpour. We have a...

http://svsolstice.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Voyage of the Solstice. Postings from the crew of the Solstice. Friday, December 31, 2010. Passage to Barbados, day 3. Within hours of the end of day 2 John spotted sails behind us and quickly got on the VHF to make contact. VHF radio has a range that is essentially line-of-sight. The boat was Saba. We know of five other boats in our vicinity, but we haven't seen any of them. It's a big ocean. Radio email processed by SailMail. For information see: http:/ www.sailmail.com. http://svsolstice.blogspot.com/2008/04/isla-mujeres.html
Voyage of the Solstice. Postings from the crew of the Solstice. Saturday, April 19, 2008. Pangas on the main beach. We’ve been here at the El Milagra Marina. Since Sunday, and we’re enjoying taking it easy in the comfortable weather here. The cold front has passed, and boats started leaving here the other day, first those heading south and then yesterday the first northbound boat left. We could leave too, but we’ve decided to linger until Monday. One of the sculptures at Punte Sur. Where are we now?

Voyage of the Solstice: Adventures in re-fueling
http://svsolstice.blogspot.com/2011/05/adventures-in-re-fueling.html
Voyage of the Solstice. Postings from the crew of the Solstice. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Our chart said this place (Port Morant/Bowden Harbour) had fuel. Of course, it also said that there was a resort/marina here. Our free cruising guide said that the coast guard had taken over the facilities of the now-defunct marina, but that we could tie to the dock for free. It didn't say anything about fuel, but it only mentioned fuel once in the whole document anyway. Posted by Crew of the Solstice. Pirates of the...
