Sailing on Whisper

Our Adventure on a Maine Cat 30. Monday, March 14, 2011. Day 121: Norfolk to Deltaville. Norfolk always seems a little too far for Ben and me to do for a weekend trip, so we weren't sure if we would make it to Deltaville in a day. After dinner Thursday night Ben routed the trip into the GPS and we discovered it was only 51 nm, which has become a pretty easy day for us at this point. We reset the GPS Trip Info on the second day, so completed just over 2708 nm in four months! Saturday, March 12, 2011.

Sailing on Whisper: Happy Birthday Ben!!

http://sailingonwhisper.blogspot.com/2011/03/happy-birthday-ben.html

Our Adventure on a Maine Cat 30. Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Tuesday morning was first morning that we both woke up COLD! Part of that might be because we woke up earlier than usual, but it's also gotten cold as we've come north! This morning we woke up early again and headed back into the wind and waves to cross the Albemarle Sound. The direction to Elizabeth City allowed us to bring out our jib and fight the waves less, which had our speed around 6.5 - 7 knots (fast! Posted using BlogPress from my iPad.

Sailing on Whisper: July 2010

http://sailingonwhisper.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Our Adventure on a Maine Cat 30. Thursday, July 15, 2010. I've officially put in my last day. November 5. Work was scheduling for the next six months and it seemed more honest and straight forward to let those doing the planning know I would not be around this winter. There's no turning back now. Now that everyone at work knows, I'm more comfortable officially discussing the adventure online, so I figured we should get the blog up and running. Friday, July 9, 2010. The Bahamas Chart Arrived!

Sailing on Whisper: August 2010

http://sailingonwhisper.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Our Adventure on a Maine Cat 30. Friday, August 20, 2010. Landlocked over this past winter Ben and I did what what we could to prepare for our adventure, including researching and stalking ebay for some critical purchases. Ben will fill in the details on the more technical purchases, but they have already proved to be incredibly useful especially the upgraded chart plotter with XM weather, radar and sonar, and a new gas grill. Sailing on Whisper: 36 Hours in Charleston

http://sailingonwhisper.blogspot.com/2011/03/36-hours-in-charleston.html

Our Adventure on a Maine Cat 30. Wednesday, March 2, 2011. 36 Hours in Charleston. It was actually a little more than 36 hours in Charleston, but it included one day where we did almost nothing sailing or living on a boat related. We didn't wash the boat, fill the water tanks, get gas, pump out, or fix that one thing that needed to be fixed. We just explored Charleston. And popcorn. It wasn't a fancy pants theater with reclining chairs or anything, but the seats were comfortable, it was clean and it ...
