Thursday, April 30, 2009. Maldives - Uligan and Dhidhoo. A blog from James Day 8. Dreaming of coconut palms and coral and looking forward to seeing land soon. We were very thankful for our very large diesel tanks and have been not too shocked at the refill price of diesel here in the Maldives at $US 1.00/litre – mind you this is still 3 times as much as Oman and double Dubai.gone are our days of cheap fuel! All very happy and very excited to finally have a new culture too explore in the magical tropics.

Monday, September 21, 2009. As to be expected, Rob got caught up with work in Dubai and ended up there for 10 days which still was not enough to quell the riots and make up for 5 months of absence! I can’t believe that we have already been in the Seychelles for 6 weeks and am so sorry about the big gap in blogs - I don’t even have the excuse of poor internet connections, but, having had visitors, I do now at least have photos of myself up on the blogsite! As Axel and I were about to head to Chicago for two weeks, one gorgeous Friday in June Sten and I decided to play hooky from work to watch the start of the Newport to Bermuda Race. I love the spectacle of the hundreds of boats on the water and the helicopters overhead and the exhilaration of watching some of the fastest boats in the world fly by. Axel was less impressed.
