With a weeks digestion of lessons learned from using the 3-strand eye splice we made for use as our anchor snub line, we have two tidbits. 1 As anticipated in the original post. Would the quality of line make a difference with strands unraveling? Is taping fine and we needn't be concerned about individual strands unraveling in a completed splice? Lesson learned: practicing our lines. A hook, a shackle and an eye splice equals a snub line. We're on board, snugged up for a spell with rain, cloud and fog patches. Time to practice a splice.
