Its just approaching that time of year when I leave all the Chandler's leaflets and catalogs lying around as a not so subtle pre Christmas hint as to the materialist needs of a yachtsman! Buffer is now tucked up for the winter and her list of outstanding jobs has reduced to a half page of bits - which can frankly wait for the slightly better weather of March.

Buffer is looking well and, apart from replacing a few bits of running rigging, the boat is now ready for next year. The wind vane self steering works well and I've sorted out lights etc, etc. The plan is to lift out around the 29th of Sept and finish off a few bits then plan the route. View my complete profile.

This is the best I can do to show the route and stops clockwise around the UK. I am not a techie so couldn't work out how to put in the detour down the Caledonia Canal and some of the corners are a bit trimmed down but , with all the tacking backwards and forwards in the headwinds it works out at just over 2600n/miles. I have been asked by a number of people to publish the modifications I made on the engine compartment hatches on my CSY 44WO. For the large main hatch (by far the biggest problem). On the small hatch cover I cut off the side by the bench seat so it stands up like this:. I left a 1/4th inch drip rail so that water does not roll under the lid.

2012-10-09 @ 02:48:47 Permalink. Överfarten var inte bara obekväm med hårda vindar, stora vågor och regn. Vi fick nämligen se kaskelot valar på riktigt nära håll. Svårt att säga hur många de var men vi så valar 6 gånger och en var som sagt väldigt nära. Den första såg vi ungefär hundra meter från båten sen dyker det upp en val lika stor som Moana 5-10 meter från båten. En skräckblandad förskjusnings känsla infall sig. Sist vill jag tacka Magda och Markus för en grym månad tillsammans och bra jobbat.
