. . . CABIN NOTES: The Week of the 4th
http://cabinnotesatsea.blogspot.com/2012/07/week-of-4th.html
Life on the Water. Sunday, July 8, 2012. The Week of the 4th. Oh what a Fourth of July week we had! As with much of the eastern seaboard, we were having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave. Aren't you glad you cannot hear me croon? Last weekend, our friends Pat and Judy went to sleep late due to the heat and humidity on the Chesapeake. They woke early (0100) due to the 50 knot straight line winds that began to drag their anchor. It was the same storm that damaged the DC area. Courtesy Carol E.). Note teal ...

s/v Moosetracks: Martinique to Tabago
http://svmoosetracks.blogspot.com/2015/06/martinique-to-tabago.html
Wednesday, June 3, 2015. We took a walk with Chester and Karen around town while Michael went for a spare part by bus. Amazingly folks seem to react in totally different ways when they see a large dog, either scared to death or needing to pet and cuddle him! It made for a very interesting morning walk and a little fun too. David, Libby and Brody. Admin building for Customs and Immigration. Pirates bay from the trail. Steep steps to the beach. Wonderful soft sand beach. And a beach bar. We hope everyone's...

http://svmoosetracks.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 16, 2014. Well we have been in Grenada almost 3 months and it’s been a fantastic time to be here. The carnival is the 9-12th August and it’s a real party atmosphere around the island with all the flights in/out being fully booked. A beautiful caterpillar on our walk. A photo stop on our walk - thanks Maggie. Break of Day Parade. Lots of people participate fully. The 'loud as it can be' music trucks. Yes Gregg and Devin got plastered in used motor oil. Some of the children in the parade.

. . . CABIN NOTES: Tidbits
http://cabinnotesatsea.blogspot.com/2012/06/tidbits.html
Life on the Water. Sunday, June 24, 2012. Summer is not a time for lengthy projects. It is a time to get done what needs doing with as small a burst of energy as possible. Even so, effort equals extreme sweat. Time for the pool. And meals that are more hors d'oeuvres than entrees. In short, a season of tidbits all around. When Steve and Lynn visited on Celebration. Sundowner edibles aboard Celebration. The set of the sails illustrates how unpredictable the wind. Thunderstorm passes the point. Blackwater ...

. . . CABIN NOTES: Sail Blog: The Beginning
http://cabinnotesatsea.blogspot.com/2011/06/sail-blog-beginning-060311.html
Life on the Water. Saturday, June 4, 2011. Sail Blog: The Beginning. Once, when I was between colleges, I decided I needed to buy a Hobie 16 catamaran. I persuaded my father to go in for half the cost even though he had never sailed. We picked up our new boat behind Marsh’s Surf Shop on the causeway from Morehead City to Atlantic Beach. The folks at Marsh’s launched the boat in the canal behind the shop. What was I thinking? June 6, 2011 at 8:42 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Week of the 4th.

. . . CABIN NOTES: Post-Irene Post
http://cabinnotesatsea.blogspot.com/2011/09/post-irene-post.html
Life on the Water. Saturday, September 3, 2011. Since my last post, we have moved. Back to her slip in Oriental Harbor Marina, one of the few still intact on A Dock, mainly to be closer to our friends. None of the docks have power nor will they for some weeks as the surge entirely submerged the power pylons. We watched the Towboat US crew raise. Free would aim toward the slip adjacent to ours, then swiftly accelerate. If the captain had not been aimed away from us when the tow lines snapped, he would...

. . . CABIN NOTES: Bon Voyage Lowena
http://cabinnotesatsea.blogspot.com/2011/11/bon-voyage-lowena.html
Life on the Water. Saturday, November 19, 2011. Tony and Jenny on. Tony and Jenny are British. She hails from the south, he from the north. While the differences in the UK are different from our regional differences in the US, the dynamic is similar. Tony bought. Personally, I lusted after the granny bars with thole pins and the boom gallows, original to. But practical additions to any boat. Was re-powered with a Beta that purrs softly when turned on. After a few months in Whittaker Creek, they moved...

. . . CABIN NOTES: The End
http://cabinnotesatsea.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-end.html
Life on the Water. Thursday, February 12, 2015. Rather than string along with weak tales from the land, I have decided to mothball the blog as it was before we moved ashore. Nature as surrounded by it. It has been great fun to write for the past four years because I found good topics to feed the posts. It does not seem that way so much now, and most of my readers seem to mine the archives. I hope we sail some this year and, if we do, I will likely write new posts. March 22, 2015 at 7:31 PM.
