RowPorty attended the Fisherrow fun regatta organised by our wonderful nearest skiffing neighbours, Eskmuthe, on Saturday 1st August. Twenty members of Rowporty and their families made the annual pilgrimage to Lewis to attend the launch of An Eather’s new skiff, Yackydoola, on Wednesday 15th July 2015 with our good friends at Siabost, a coastal community on the west coast. These days it is quite different, but still a lovely place to be. Some people still come for days out, but with the advent of package holidays & ease of travel many people go abroad instead. The first rowing club in Portobello. Was started in the early 1870s, & for a while it had 2 rowing clubs: Portobello Amateur Rowing Club.

Bringing rowing back to Portobello. We’ve built Ice Breaker. Two five person rowing boats, for everyone in Portobello to row for fun, exercise and racing. The boats are St Ayles Skiffs, designed by internationally renowned small boat designer Iain Oughtred for the Scottish Coastal Rowing Project.
