The Great Shakedown Cruise: June 2016

http://sailshakedown.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html

The Great Shakedown Cruise. Thursday, June 30, 2016. Cruising the Sea again - Part II. Our next stop, Caleta San Juanico It is a large bay with dramatic rock formations in the water. Definitely a place to return to and spend more time. Because of the rocks, snorkeling would be good and we saw a lot of fish, big and small. Instead of staying, we decided to push on. Shakedown crew is on a schedule. Yes, the forbidden word, schedule! Fair winds and calm seas to all our friends and family! April 28th, 2016.

The Great Shakedown Cruise: April 2015

http://sailshakedown.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

The Great Shakedown Cruise. Monday, April 20, 2015. A Whale of a (yellow) Tail. The Yellow Tail before butchering began. We were happy to get a nice calm place to get some rest after this day. NJ needed a shower to sooth her muscles which were over-used battling with that 35 pound yellow tail tuna. She worked on that fish for probably five hours! What a lot of meals that fish will make. Had a spot of leftover spaghetti for late snack about 2100, then made ready for a good night's sleep. We are OUTTA HERE!

The Great Shakedown Cruise. Sunday, November 22, 2015. Puerto Escondido, Loreto and Dallas. The morning after that miserable Chubasco in the middle of the night, we arrived in Puerto Escondido on Aug. 24 and were happy for the sanctuary the harbor provides. The name itself means Hidden Port, and is one of Baja's most protected harbors, which makes it a popular hurricane hole to anchor in during the summer months (hurricane season}. We had torrential rain for two days and, were happy to ride to Loreto wit...

The Great Shakedown Cruise. Friday, July 1, 2016. Time for repairs in Puerto Escondido. Yes, Maggie, we're back and we'll play ball with you every day for the next 30 days in the afternoon whilst slaving daily to make necessary repairs to our beloved "Shakedown". Time to assess the damage.and make a plan to fix the boo-boo. This pump. (Well, and forgetting to change the senders for the oil pressure and water temp guages). What a deal. And we got a room with a view. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my com...

The Adventures of SeaGlub and the Hesitant Half. Blogs - most recent. Wednesday, October 26, 2016. October update and penciling in plans for departure. Getting at the gear box, of course, was no simple process. First I had to take off everything I put on last spring, the turbocharger, mixing elbow and other components. I also had to remove a bunch of hoses from the generator (that's a separate rebuild story still on going.) and remove other various items. Before removing everything in the way. Oh ya, Jan...
