The District Darling: Namaste, Friends
http://thedistrictdarling.blogspot.com/2014/06/namaste-friends.html
Tales from a Southern Belle. So, last week consisted of two things and a lot of them. Work and yoga. I have become completely addicted to practicing yoga as much as I can throughout the week and have found that it really grounds and balances my life. Plus, it helps that my studio is literally less than a minute away from our house. After all of that paddling and sight seeing, we put our paddles up and wondered towards Baked and Wired. It's a must for all, D.C. residents and visitors alike. Jo...Saturday ...

The District Darling: Glamping on the Eastern Shore
http://thedistrictdarling.blogspot.com/2015/07/glamping-on-eastern-shore.html
Tales from a Southern Belle. Glamping on the Eastern Shore. My sweet John finished step 3 of 4 of his medical boards this past Friday. The test is pretty grueling and so after all was said and done- he needed some much needed relaxation. Therefore, we rented a car and hit the road to the eastern shore of Virginia for a glamping (glamorized camping) adventure! It was love at first sight. The Brown Dog chocolate ice cream is a must try! The 298-acre preserve contains outstanding Chesapeake Bay beach, dune,...

The District Darling: Hit the Ground Runnin'
http://thedistrictdarling.blogspot.com/2014/05/hit-ground-runnin.html
Tales from a Southern Belle. Hit the Ground Runnin'. So, in typical Mary-Katherine style, I crammed our first week in D.C. with excursions all over the city. On Sunday and Monday, our day mostly consisted of ripping off duct tape and unpacking boxes. However, in between unpacking sprees, we did try some great food. Sunday, for dinner, we had Zorba's. The next day, we walked down our street to the local bakery, Firehook Bakery and Coffeehouse. Neighborhood on the way home. We then made our way back to our...

Sassy in the South: Sassy in the Capital
http://sasinthesouth.blogspot.com/2014/03/sassy-in-capitol.html
Sassy in the South. Sassy in the Capital. On Monday, we kicked off the week by joining John's medical school class at Avondale Brewing Company. On Tuesday, our friends Lauren and Lee came over for a Mexican fiesta. We set up a taco bar and made Prosecco P iña. That's right, think traditional piña colada but with the bubbly taste of prosecco. I snagged the recipe from Anthropologie's site a few weeks back, and thought what better night to pull it out of the recipe box, than taco night? For the simple syrup.

Conversely, one could be a jerk, fail to do justice and righteousness, and still go to worship — just as Christians do today. In Jewish tradition, women without hu...

Sassy in the South: Greek Food, Pumpkin Patches, and Alabama football
http://sasinthesouth.blogspot.com/2013/09/greek-food-pumpkin-patches-and-alabama.html
Sassy in the South. Greek Food, Pumpkin Patches, and Alabama football. Friday evening John and I went downtown for the 41st annual Greek Festival. At Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral. It always brings a ton of people. So, we knew in advance that we would be standing in line for a good hour. We didn't mind the wait though because it gave us time to talk and catch up with one another. That afternoon we headed to Blount County, the county in which I was born and raised, to go to the Great Pu...
