The D&D Take: July 2010
http://thedndtake.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Bringing it all back. I'm really sorry for the long hiatus. I'd like to explain the reason(s). 1) Just plain busy - My life has been a bit hectic since I wrote last. I've gone through some major life changes, from family events and instances to work related things and other personal stuff. Barring getting into to much detail, lets just say they should be taken care of, one way or another, within a few months. ALL THAT BEING SAID. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This box is not. D&D 5 Basic DM Guide Review. The D&D Basic Rules (which can be found here. Were a major hit. They present all the rules a player needs to create a simple character that's playable in a session of D&D and the good folks at WotC. Even made them absolutely FREE. It's a brilliant idea and a wonderful way for prospective fans or those who're just curious about tabletop RPG's in general to poke their noses in, get their feet wet and see what all the hubbub is about without spending a cent. D&D 5e Spellcasting Clarification. So recently myself and a few friends have been playing the D&D 5e Starter Set at our local game store, as well as just starting a private game which included our wives, which was a blast. When getting them set up for the game, we ran into the issue of a brand spanking new player grabbing, of course, the Wizard. Referencing the D&D 5 Basic Rules (found here. Level 1: Two Level-1 slots. Level 2: Three Level-1 slots. Level 3: Four Level-1 slots, Two Level-2 slots. 3 Spell ...

Campaign 2010: RP notes =]. Everyone, first, I just want to say, the game has gone really well so far. I'm very much enjoying the game so far. The party has shown itself to be resilient, strong and courageous. It's been a blast for me, as I hope it's been for you. The notes are as follows:. Tataki: You've been thick as thieves with your sister for as long as you can remember. You've been her right hand and she yours since you were young. Looking on, as the recent fights have passed, however, you'...Tamag...

The D&D Take: Roleplaying and Kids!
http://thedndtake.blogspot.com/2014/06/roleplaying-and-kids.html
So it's been a darn long while since I've posted but I've recently been really pushing myself to do some Dungeon Mastering and, in turn, it's got me thinking about these kinds of things again. So with that, I'm back! What I'd like to tackle in the article (I'll keep it brief, to the best of my ability) is RPG's and kids, and how darn awesome it can be! They get to imagine themselves as an awesome hero defeating a dragon or hunting for hidden treasure (or doing whatever other kind of story things the DM m...

The Town of Silverton. Here's the info for next session:. The town is open to you and you may explore at your leisure. I will facilitate as needed. This session will be free form and player driven, meaning that any movement in the session will be determined by ideas you all come up with. How he trains will be up to you, how you get supplies will be up to you, as will everything else. I hope this will be interesting and fun and I'm excited to see where things go. =] Glad to be back. Anyways, lets hop to it. Just this week, I was reading a post that Chris Perkins (Creative Manager for Wizards) did on role playing and balancing it with the game. Here's the link, check it out, read it, then come back. Http:/ wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx? I really like the way Mr. Perkins put it. These play...
