team catholic: M&M's, Easter and Remembering Grandma
http://teamcatholic.blogspot.com/2015/04/m-easter-and-remembering-grandma.html
The way is the goal. Friday, April 10, 2015. M&M's, Easter and Remembering Grandma. One of my earliest memories of my grandparents is when they were left to babysit me and my younger siblings. I was probably six or seven- the oldest- and I was aware that the evening's routine was far more relaxed than if my parent's had been there. I remember watching movies, playing cards and no clearly defined bedtime. To my amazement, my grandfather drove to the grocery store. Where, O death, is your victory? Don't ge...
team catholic: Thoughts from the Gym: Divestment
http://teamcatholic.blogspot.com/2013/05/thoughts-from-gym-divestment.html
The way is the goal. Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Thoughts from the Gym: Divestment. Just listened to another podcast that mentioned "divestment". Why is this not something that the pro life and human trafficking movement look at? It was divestment that ended apartheid. Has this been discussed? It seems that this idea of touring college campuses and getting them to divest of industries that fund planned parenthood could be an pro-life strategy that could lead to real change. The way is the goal. Saturday, September 29, 2012. Friendship and all my single ladies. In what was a mostly tongue in cheek #catholicgrlprob tweet, last night @JackieFrancois tweeted about that “awkward moment at Mass when you’re between your boyfriend and best friend and don’t know who to give peace to first”. This prompted a range of responses-. ATLenahan answered, “always the boyfriend first! If she is a besty she’ll understand”. I replied that I disagree, stating “bff before bf. I know that each voc...

The way is the goal. Monday, July 8, 2013. Figuring out how to be. Tonight was one of those nights with middle schoolers that I actually brought on myself because I served them soda someone had donated (if only they would donate caffeine free organic chamomile tea, right? It was only an hour later, when they had gone home and I was scraping oreo frosting and frayed nerves off the floor that I realized I had totally failed. Should middle schoolers be allowed to interrupt or make Hitler jokes? Maybe not...

The way is the goal. Sunday, February 8, 2015. This, especially, was news to me. As a child there was nothing we dreaded more than the last ten minutes of every hour when the lifeguard would blow their whistle and announce “Adult Swim! Dozens of kids would have to empty the pool and sit on the sidelines, glaring, while one or two adults would wade around the shallow end, the pool completely to themselves. This had never occurred to me, but it made perfect sense. Like any over-confident millennial, I don&...

The way is the goal. Sunday, December 9, 2012. Yesterday, I attended an afternoon Advent retreat hosted by Adam. Ubowski and the Catholic Young Adults from the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. I feel like I'm still recovering from Thanksgiving, NCCYM and trying to pull off a few new Advent traditions with youth ministry at St. John's. And by the time 2:45 pm rolled around, I just wanted to crawl back into bed. Column due that afternoon and reluctantly trudged out the door. In The Soul of the Apostolate.

team catholic: Thoughts from the gym: Are we serving needs?
http://teamcatholic.blogspot.com/2013/05/a-woman-i-had-chatted-with-last-week.html
The way is the goal. Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Thoughts from the gym: Are we serving needs? A woman I had chatted with last week called today. I had mentioned I was looking for chia seeds. We all complained how hard it was to find certain products in this area, where Trader Joes and Whole Foods was hours away. She called because she had seen them and found them for me yesterday. Amazing that someone would remember my request and look out. Do we do that with more dire issues? View my complete profile.

Saint Maker
Aren't most saints martyrs? I'm sure my kids will say that I am a maker of saints (grin). Thursday, July 3, 2014. Peter you are my Rock. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love. V Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created. R And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth. 8220;Boy I wish they had individual pork rind packs,” I said. “I either eat too many or they aren’t fresh.”. 8220;Oh well that is OK” she said, and I said “are you sure? Loved, let ...
