Benvenuti all’Hotel Arion a Samos. L’Hotel prende il nome da Arione, il famoso poeta e compositore vissuto a Samos fra il 625 ed il 585 a.C. Secondo il mito, dei pirati attaccarono la barca mentre viaggiava per mare e minacciarono di ucciderlo. Arione chiese di poter cantare la sua ultima canzone. Gli accordarono il desiderio ed egli cantò con tale sentimento che un branco di delfini si raccolse attorno alla barca e quando fu buttato in acqua uno di loro lo portò sano e salvo fino a riva.

Mythology relates that once while he was travelling by sea, pirates stormed the boat and threatened to kill him. Arion requested that he be allowed to sing one last song. The wish granted, he sang with such feeling that a flock of dolphins gathered round the boat and when he was thrown overboard, one of them carried him on its back safely to the shore.
