Under the Cherry Tree. Monday, 23 May 2011. The Balkans: Ohrid (Macedonia)/ オホリッド（マケドニア）. We left Sofia at 12:00 AM on a night bus, headed for Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. From there we were going to take another bus at 6:00 AM to get to a town called Ohrid. The bus journey went well - or too well. Instead of five and half hours as we were told, it only took four and half hours. We found a 24 hour bakery just outside of the bus station and had an espresso with lots of sugar. It tasted SOOOO good.

Under the Cherry Tree. Sunday, 28 November 2010. Scones with gooseberry jam/ グースベリージャムとスコーン. I know scones are normally for tea time. However, sometimes scones cream feels a bit too much for an afternoon treat, i.e. after lunch and before dinner. So why not for brunch, as a part of a meal? The excuse was that I finally opened the gooseberry jam that I made this summer. I must say I like gooseberry jam as much as strawberry jam to have with scones! However, I did not bake in the "hotel afternoon tea style".
