Archive for April, 2015. April 26, 2015. My father has beautiful penmanship. I’ve always admired his Chinese writing and his vast knowledge of China history and culture. When we were young, we used to love the Singaporean sitcom Under One Roof about the Tan family. The family patriarch Tan Ah Teck would end most episodes by telling a story to his kids ‘long before your time, in the southern province of China…’. During this trip he told me a funny story about Deng Xiao Ping visiting America. April 21, 2015.

Ramen in the city. Of Dayre and Kindle. March 15, 2015. Just a short post to say that I’m still alive haha. Actually I’ve been posting a lot on dayre. And so far it’s been very easy and lots of fun. Let’s see how long that lasts. My favourite part is reading my sisters’ dayre posts and especially my ah ma’s dayre! Even better news, my ah pa and ah ma are visiting us in October! Only for two weeks but it will be lots of fun. Plus the weather will be a lot cooler then so they should enjoy it. Follow &ldquo...

May 14, 2015. Daitaoha Earns a Living. Can’t believe (actually quite predictable lah I go through this every year) that I’m back in my vicious work cycle of wondering what the hell I’m doing and thinking about quitting again. I never go through with quitting though (especially with the horrendous job market at the moment! Just being a drama mama as usual. I do irritate myself with my melodrama. Am I overworked because I should be able to time manage better? And my mentee is brilliant! Feed for this Entry.

April 21, 2015. I recognise that my blog is half dead now that I’m primarily blogging from dayre. It is so much easier and instant. This is my bedroom window view from the 35th floor. I love this flat, it’s a home away from home and I already know that we will have wonderful happy times here for years to come. Responses to “Singapore family trip”. Feed for this Entry. Does she like it? March 12, 2011 at 9:12 pm. Finally, a long overdue Millie Memilsie post! Synopsis: Millie tries out a new food item…. egg! See if she likes it! She was really cute as she was eating it, and so gwai cos I was holding her and she just sat in my hands like a butterball for ages. So adorable! Please note that the video is a bit blurry because it was taken on an iphone, stupid iphone. Luckily Millie’s cuteness shines through, lousy camera or not hahaha. Entry filed under: Uncategorized.

Happy Chap Goh Meh. Of Dayre and Kindle. Ramen in the city. March 8, 2015. The quest for the best Japanese in Perth. It has been a family laden fun weekend first starting with Fremantle beach on a Saturday with the kids. I think our Jurien Bay beach swimming got me hooked, that’s crazy for someone who fears the heat and hates summer. Jan and I had the miso ramen with a side of mentaiko. Love mentaiko. This was quite tasty but we were all very thirsty after our meal, too much msg in the ramen! It’s ...
