1 tsp olive oil. 2 cloves garlic, smashed. 28 oz can crushed tomatoes. 1 small bay leaf. 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil. Salt and fresh pepper to taste. In a medium pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until golden, being careful not to burn. Crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and bay leaf. And reduce heat to low. And let simmer about 15 - 20 minutes. We had a nice and mellow 4th, the Sheriff was working and the Ferguson Clan had plans with their friends so it was a day with these cuties poolside with Grammy and Grampy too! We enjoyed the all American meal of BBQ'ed hamburgers, corn on the cob and potato salad made by Super Mom. The weather was beautiful and it was a wonderful afternoon in HB.
