Performance number 19, Kids baseball tournament, Saline Big Band. Saline Big Band had been scheduled to play outside for this gig, but rain drove us inside. Notes from a local horn player. Reflections on performances in and near Ann Arbor, Michigan. Written by a reed sideman. Saturday, September 24, 2005. Performance numbers 24 and 25, Noon wedding and evening 50th anniversary, Saline Big Band. When folks pay a band, I'm not sure they realize some of the expenses. For a $40 gig this evening, there was a 60 mile (roundtrip) drive, $12 for tux cleaning, and reeds for a bari sax and a bass clarinet. So it goes, I guess. Posted by Jon Margerum-Leys at 11:45 PM.
