Lake Mokoan Series - Sally Simpson - Sculptor

Originally a swampland that had been unsuccessfully reconfigured as a lake, Lake Mokan was in the process of being transformed into Winton Wetland when Simpson visited in 2009. The shallow, often dry lake bed provided a wealth of detritus, and the gathering and transforming of remains became a way to memorialise the lake at a particular moment in history. Artefacts: Lake Mokoan (bone heads) 2009-10. Irrigation pipe, aluminium can, fish bones and scales, fishing tackle, bell jar. 66 x 25 x 25cms.
