Saltaire URC information on arranging Peals or Quarters

The church and bells are now an essential part of our local community. We respect the needs of our community and therefore wish to carefully control the occasions upon which peals or quarters are rung at the church. It is unlikely that permission will be granted for ringing during business hours as we are close to Salts Mill with its many businesses, and Shipley College is next door. As an alternative quarters may be rung on the simulator. Please check the Notices. At the Branch Annual Dinner.

Saltaire United Reformed Church bell facts. The original bells were last rung in 1918 and removed at some time during the second world war and sold for scrap. Details of those bells are:. 2 ft 0 ins. 2 ft 2 ins. 2 ft 3.5 ins. 2 ft 4 ins. 2 ft 7.25 ins. 2 ft 11.5 ins. There are only two United Reformed Churches in England with a peal of bells;. Saltaire URC arranging bells at your wedding

No church wedding would be complete without the splendour of an historic building, the uplifting magnificence of the church organ and the harmonious peal of the wedding bells. At Saltaire we ring for 30 minutes before and 20 minutes after the service. If you would like to have the bells ring for you please request them when you make your marriage arrangements with the church. To view the schedule of dates on which weddings with bells. The United Reformed Church. Is situated in the historic UNESCO world heritage site of Saltaire. Near Shipley West Yorkshire. Visitors and ringing groups are most welcome. We have good car-parking in the church grounds and toilet facilities. We also have a simulator. Access to the ringing chamber is via 65 steps. Saltaire United Reformed Church.
