My Heart Overflows: September 2010
http://melissaphelps.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
With a Good Theme. Friday, September 24, 2010. I love Edith Wharton books. Which is strange because all of her books end sadly and her heroines are usually misguided or evil (not my usual taste). I started with Ethan Frome. Which is my least favorite, and then I read The House of Mirth. And The Custom of the Country. Now I am reading The Age of Innocence. I can never re-read Wharton books. But her picturesque portrayals of a life unraveling are so captivating the first time through.

My Heart Overflows: October 2014
http://melissaphelps.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
With a Good Theme. Wednesday, October 22, 2014. At youth we tested our Bible knowledge with this quiz: Prescription Drug or Old Testament King? Let me know how you did! Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Some church members and myself decided to start planning regular youth events for the ten or so youth we have attending our little church. I am really excited! I have been involved with different youth ministries for five years now, but someone else usually planned which curriculum we would use. 2) To leave room...

With a Good Theme. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Days until Joe, Miriam and lil what's-her-name come home. My excitement level is reaching epic proportions. Days until the graduate party at church. Days until Sam is done with classes. Days until Esther's highly exciting birthday. Taps fingers together anticipatorially*. Days until Mother's day. Days until I graduate. Days until my roomie leaves me for Alabama. Sigh* you can't win them all. I'll try not to hold it against the state. Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

My Heart Overflows: February 2010

With a Good Theme. Wednesday, February 17, 2010. And some days I feel like there's something seriously wrong with the world. Monday, February 8, 2010. If I were building hell, here are some levels I would select for lesser sins. 1) Forever trying to find a parking spot in a cold damp garage. 2) Forever being stuck on the phone with IS&T and their annoying elevator doo wop music. 3) Forever being unable to get popcorn kernels from between teeth. Because those are three of the most annoying things I know of.

Megobuddy: March 2009
http://megobuddy.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 23, 2009. All for the cause. Well, I did it.I donated blood. And I have to be honest and say that I didn't do it just to save lives. I did it to overcome a fear. I must quote Dr. Brown and say that "I'm not into pain! Not to say that people love pain, but I am very intolerant of it. And when you mix 'overdramatic' with 'zero tolerance for pain' well, I'm sure you get the picture. Let's just say that my first time giving blood was certainly not one of the best experiences of my life. On a mo...

Saturday, September 26, 2009. Turning Over a New Leaf". That is what I write every time I have no idea what happened to the concept of balancing my checkbook. I just write in my current balance, hoping its correct, and reprimand myself by saying "Turning over a new leaf" to remind myself not to let it happen again. This now applies to blogging. It's been so long. What shall I write about to wow the world with my witticisms? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Turning Over a New Leaf. View my complete profile.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008. I think my classes this semester will be very enriching as I navigate my first Dr. Brown class and also take a course in Shakespeare who I love reading. Hermeneutics will teach me how to better study the Bible, and I'm not sure what I'm going to learn in Hymnology but I'm sure it will be good. Well, picture me holding a glass of some non-alcoholic beverage and giving a toast. "Here's to a great fall semester at God's Bible School and College! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Stuff I've Read Recently. Ninety Minutes in Heaven. This book helped me start looking forward to heaven. As a young person, I could never quite grasp that excitement that older people have when they talk about going "home." It's going to be so wonderful, and this book helped me have a much better picture of the joy and fulfillment that is so tremendously unlike anything we can experience here on earth. Call of the Wild. Megobuddy: June 2009
http://megobuddy.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Days 4, 5 and 6. Well, several days have passed now so I thought I would update on them. Saturday, I was able to wash my hair! Instead of sitting on a stool in the shower I just sat in the wheel chair and my grandmother washed my hair in the wash tub instead. It was much easier that way. The whole day I felt as if I had a fever, but every time I checked my temperature the thermometer said it was normal. Sunday just seemed to drag on. I'm sure I really did look like a lunatic. ...

Thursday, February 5, 2009. I must show you all the coat I found for my trip to Ireland! It makes me happy! The coat matches my rain boots! Here are some random pictures I took to test out what my camera can do. Here are some pictures of snowflakes I took a few days ago. Seeing how intricate each snowflake is just reminds me how awesome God is. Each snowflake has its own unique design. But not only is each snowflake different, each point of one snowflake is exactly the same (relatively).
