Just another WordPress.com weblog. Sam’s spring break was this past week. Bennett and these two lucky ducks took about a 9 hour road trip to the ultimate – Legoland! Parker and I have been at home receiving updates. They stayed with Allison and Tiger for an evening making it the second visit in one week! Sounds like fun was had by all. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Happy birthday, Sam! The following weekend Sam had three friends sleep over which was clearly fun for Sam, but, wow! What a lot of work! It was our first sleepover with that many kids (not family). Bennett planned out fun activities for the boys making different kinds of motors and paper airplanes. We didn't get Memorial Day on Monday, but yesterday we had Ascension Day. The weather was gorgeous. Michael and I spent a relaxing day with Celine, mostly on the balcony. I gave feedback on a pile of writing journals my students turned in on Wednesday. Michael worked many hours on a tricky Harry Potter puzzle, then played for some hours with his friend Lukas.

On Friday Michael's class had its last event (a six-kilometer hike through the forest from Ehlhalten to Heftrich, for their class party and camp-out). The dinner buffet was amazing; I'm always impressed by the fancy dishes German families bring to these events. Despite the "competition," our chocolate-chip muffins were the first to disappear:). Jeremiah - Belinda - Samuel - Elisabeth. Friday, July 31, 2015. The kids have loved their Thursday night working in the special needs mutual. Seminary graduation and promotion. Uh-oh look who can open the cupboards. And just like that hes 17. The boys are back together, well sorta. Golfing for a good cause. A historical walk is not a hike. Just ask Elisabeth and Macey. They could have gone to the mall and walked for 5 miles! Gaby, Bryan and Caterina. She will move dirt. Modeling pajamas in sewing class.

Elise has definitely thrived and flourished at Dandelion (as did Sam) and we are so grateful to be part of such a special community of families and teachers. Clara turned six months old last week and passed her doctor's appointment with flying colors. She weighs nearly 17 pounds and is just over two feet tall. Jumping in her jumperoo.

So, in one of my too much time on hand days, I decided to make a practice cake for Sam's upcoming birthday this Tuesday (32! Sam loves the ice cream - so I make him an ice cream cake each year. I found an awesome recipe for a Whoppers ice cream cake, one of his fav candies, so it was a match made in heaven. And yes, it is DEE-LISH!
