Luna's Ramblings: Catching up - garden, knitting, and cooking
http://lunarcalypso.blogspot.com/2015/08/catching-up-garden-knitting-and-cooking.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Catching up - garden, knitting, and cooking. Lots to update. I went to the open house at a farm who brings vegetables to my local farmers' market. Their logo is a gnome and they were doing face painting. I had a lovely fiddling gnome, but I scratched my cheek before I took a picture so his red hat is all smudged. Boo. The big problem in my garden lately has been this little guy. But he can't get to the raised beds so I have some lovely things growing there. In the knitting world, ...

Schmiddy's Thoughts on Life: March 2009
http://lisamschmid.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Schmiddy's Thoughts on Life. Monday, March 30, 2009. A trip down memory lane. After we ate dinner and completed our mini-tour, it was time for Michelle and me to go speak. Surprisngly, there was a really good turnout! I'm guessing many of the students were required to attend for class, but who cares? At least there were people there. :) It was good to see, and I hope they took something from the presentation. Idiot of the Week Award - 3/22/09 - 3/28/09. My mom and I went to examine the armoire. After the...

Luna's Ramblings: July 2015
http://lunarcalypso.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. Monday morning we wandered around a bit, checking out the gardens around the art museum. And heading out to the cultural gardens but only to the Irish garden before the rain and hunger chased us back. We had lunch at Crop Kitchen, which was excellent with maple cream soda for me and lemon basil for CW. I had their roast pork tacos, but it was the meatloaf sandwich that CW had that was really unbelievably good. We then headed out to Dad's aunt and uncle's place. It was really goo...

Luna's Ramblings: October 2014
http://lunarcalypso.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 22, 2014. My company sponsored a Habitat for Humanity house this year, and many of us volunteered over the summer to build it. It is finished now and today there was an open house so we could see the finished house. It looks great. I like that there are windows on the side so every bedroom has multiple windows and there is good cross ventilation. The bathrooms and kitchen are decent size. Monday, October 20, 2014. Flowers, herbs, and good eating. A gratuitous picture of Lily. Terrible ...

Luna's Ramblings: November 2014
http://lunarcalypso.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 21, 2014. My husband is trying to kill me. With butter and carbs. We actually managed to make it last 5 days so it's not too bad. And it tastes soooooooooo good. Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Mama Luna was derelict in her culinary educational duties; I had never had sticky toffee pudding until I tried out Smitten Kitchen's recipe. Smitten Kitchen's had winners for us recently. We made the pancetta (or bacon that we substituted), white bean, and chard pot pies. Monday, November 10, 2014.

Luna's Ramblings: July Garden
http://lunarcalypso.blogspot.com/2015/07/july-garden.html
Saturday, July 4, 2015. The purple datura was gorgeous. It's got a big seed pod now. I loved these little mushrooms in the rosemary plant. They only lasted a day so I'm glad I got a picture. I expected a little fairy or sometihng to show up. The clematis is taking over. This geranium was from a seedling that ended up in the sidewalk garden (where it'd be sprayed as a weed) last summer from our neighbors' geranium. It's fun to raise plants from seed. That's today's garden update. The Pioneer Woman Cooks!

Luna's Ramblings: August 2014
http://lunarcalypso.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 30, 2014. I haven't posted in almost a month. It's not been for lack of interesting things going on. Early in the month, my work team worked at the Habitat house that our company is sponsoring. We worked on cleaning up the mess that was made when a previous team did the mudding and sanding. And what a mess it was! The house is coming along really well. This was almost a month ago. Last spring there was a sink hole in the path around the pond behind our house. It started out like this:.

Luna's Ramblings: Flowers and cookies
http://lunarcalypso.blogspot.com/2015/06/flowers-and-cookies.html
Monday, June 15, 2015. I liked the cascade of petals from the dahlia. The datura blossom was neat. There's one tiny pepper on the bell pepper plant and one blossom. I overwintered last winter so it was strong to start this spring. Unrelated to the garden, we made cookies over the weekend. We have a box of 100 cookie cutters so we have all kinds of shapes including dinosaurs. Cat Wrangler had some fun with some jam and two of the cookies. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Garden in for the summerI went.

Luna's Ramblings: March 2015
http://lunarcalypso.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 18, 2015. For mid-March, my garden is looking really good. There's a tiny green sprout in the middle of this picture. No idea what it is, but I love volunteers. There are green buds in the V just above my finger on the clematis. And the peony buds look vibrantly pink. I love this time of year! A couple of baking pictures because they came out so well. I made a pound cake for the first time. The crumb was so beautiful I had to take a picture. Saturday, March 14, 2015. Poking up through th...
