It was my 50th birthday, and our 13th anniversary weekend. we hadn't been away without the kiddos for about two years. i just couldn't let another year go by without snatching my dearest love away (even though he was secretly planning a bash for my birthday). We missed our boys, but chatted with them frequently. i think it was good for them to spend time away from us as well. absence makes the heart grow fonder? Our room with a view. Due to nice weather.

Wednesday, May 27, 2015. The rest of the story. So for four years, i wore a back brace. something that looked very similar to this one. I had to wear a thin t-shirt underneath so it wouldn't rub on my skin. i didn't have any long enough, so i remember my mom cut off the sleeves and neck of my dad's t-shirts. my clothes barely fit over the brace. the only thing that showed when i was dressed was the neck piece. Today marked the first monday of the year. the day that the mcmonkeys returned to school, the handsome hubby returned to work, and the first day alone for me after spending the last two full weeks together. You know, that 'noise' that's around your home when you have littles at home with you. Which brings me to the one word that i've chosen to bring me through this new year. When I prodded him to tell me what was wrong, he admitted that a group of boys at school didn't think he was " cool. I'm not cool,' he said. I asked him what makes boys cool. Saturday, April 7, 2012. April goals, Easter goodness and spring. Here we are one full week into april. i was so spoiled by that nice weather we had last month. I am wishing for the warmth to return. my spring flowers are wanting to come out. Cannot wait to celebrate the Risen Christ! So blessed to have Hank home with us so we can celebrate as a family. Thursday, November 6, 2014. Energy and God's grace. As most of you know, i was down for the count with an illness last week. fever for 5 1/2 days, hacking cough, muscle/joint aches, severe headache, no appetite, general malaise. the doctor couldn't even tell me what it was…just 'some kind of virus,' and bronchitis. I find that i need to rest in between tasks, and i have no desire to do some tasks (i.e, raking). It's not fun. it's not me. What about those who know, but there's no cure? I am so very gratef...
