A Little About a Lot: April 2015
http://niallgavinuk.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
A Little About a Lot. Monday, 13 April 2015. I mentioned MOOCs to one of my team last week and was met with a blank stare and. Inevitable follow-up question - "What's a MOOC? Other than being able to tell her that a MOOC is a 'Massive Open Online Course', I didn't have a lot to say about them. Hang on", I hear you cry. "Aren't you supposed to be some kind of Learning and Development Techie Manager, or something like that? Aren't you supposed to know about all this stuff? And write a blog. I figure that i...
A Little About a Lot: September 2014
http://niallgavinuk.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
A Little About a Lot. Saturday, 13 September 2014. Three years on - On taking my Son to University. 2014 is shaping up to be a milestone year for us, and I will no doubt blog some reflections on that, with the hindsight of distance and time, next year. For today though, I wanted to share some thoughts and feelings, which reference a previous blog from September three years ago Reflections on taking my Daughter to University. And touch on taking my son, Sam, to university in. And finally decided that work...
A Little About a Lot: May 2015
http://niallgavinuk.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
A Little About a Lot. Sunday, 3 May 2015. I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Caroline Walmsley (@carowalmsley), CEO of Brightwave, last week and we had a wide-ranging conversation about learning, learners, L&D, vendors and the ambiguous spaces betwixt and between them. Under this Creative Commons Licence. It was a transformative experience. Not only did I not die, but the world underneath the surface was beautiful. I was surrounded by fish, I was 'flying' over an undersea landscape o...I pan...
A Little About a Lot: March 2015
http://niallgavinuk.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
A Little About a Lot. Sunday, 8 March 2015. Mandy and I attended a surprise 60th birthday lunch for my best pal. In London today. His partner, Clare, had asked me,. As his oldest pal,. To say a few words. This is what I said. I'm going to start by taking a quick a straw poll. How many of you here today call Michael by his full name - Michael - or by the more familiar, Mike? The majority of hands showed up for 'Michael'). And Mike made me laugh. We shared the same sense of humour, fuelled by comedians...
A Little About a Lot: January 2015
http://niallgavinuk.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
A Little About a Lot. Sunday, 18 January 2015. I spent a lot of time over the festive holidays on domestic tasks like putting up curtain rails, hanging pictures and assembling bedroom furniture. We moved into our new-build home at the beginning of November and I never really had time to attend to these tasks between then and breaking up for the vacation, so I was glad to finally put my own feet on the floor, so to speak. And what great instructions they provide! There are no unnecessary explanations....
A Little About a Lot: April 2014
http://niallgavinuk.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
A Little About a Lot. Saturday, 5 April 2014. Not such big news - House-hunting's emotionally and aesthetically challenging! In the words of Sinead O'Connor, "Nothing Compares." to our home of 23 years (but which we have now put on the market to get rid of our mortgage and move somewhere cheaper, for reasons already mentioned in a previous blog 'Not Moving On'. That said, our house has never looked better! All the little jobs I was never getting round to have been done; Saturday mornings now, we blitz t...
A Little About a Lot: June 2015
http://niallgavinuk.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
A Little About a Lot. Wednesday, 17 June 2015. Just over a month ago I had a triple coronary bypass operation and am currently signed off work for several more weeks as I recover. This all happened very quickly, as a result of experiencing some chest pain in April and attending the doctor to discuss. What's not so important? What does the 25 years that I've been given by this operation look like? How shall I/we spend that time? What does work and retirement look like now? Tash achieved a 2:1 BA in Interi...

A Little About a Lot: December 2013
http://niallgavinuk.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
A Little About a Lot. Saturday, 14 December 2013. Present - and Correct? But what has really brought that home to me. In these last few weeks,. Is the number of what I would categorise as 'silly mistakes' that I have been making; nothing that has caused any impact on others - because I 'caught' them in time - but certainly not how I like to operate, either personally or professionally. And I guess what has emerged for me is the realisation (scrub that - confirmation! Having watched and lived through the ...

The life of a guy named Sam.
The life of a guy named Sam. Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.". Friday, March 24, 2006. Just got back from V for Vendetta. Possibly the most inspiring and true movie I have seen yet. The truth portrayed by the social atmosphere of Britain in this movie is amazingly similar to Nazi Germany set in a present atmosphere. If you were to see one movie in theaters this year, I would strongly suggest this one. Peace (& Viva La Revolutión),. Posted by Sammy G @ 10:08 PM. I like to eat poop.

Sam Gay Animation - Home
Some of my past work as an Animator and Illustrator, designing and creating mostly cartoons and such projects for advertisement and entertainment. . . . . . Getting sucked into a smartphone, a curious individual gets transported into the App world and interacts with the unstable apps he encounters. . . A team project submitted to Blockhead 2013 and won 3rd place for best Animation. I've done almost EVERY character animation in each scene, and designed the main character myself as a final result.
