Art on the Road and More: June 2011
http://samhunter42.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Art on the Road and More. Monday, June 27, 2011. Parables of the Knicker Drawer. How perfect it was that on the day I learned she left us, I was wearing an uncomfortable pair of knickers that had somehow escaped the rubbish bin. I chucked them at the end of the day. Thank you for teaching me right up to the end, Gill. My dear friend Gill Harding left us on June 22, 2011, at the too young age of 63. She is survived by husband Colin, sons Robert and Jamie, and countless other people who love her.).

Art on the Road and More: December 2010
http://samhunter42.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Art on the Road and More. Thursday, December 2, 2010. Vote with your feet. Think about it. when our interest in a TV show wanes, the series gets canceled. Same goes for any consumer product - think ThighMaster, or then again, maybe don't :-). Museums are full of art. some great, some not so. If you don't like something, folks, just walk away. There's bound to be something you do like in the next room. Http:/ www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/11/30/AR2010113007227.html? Vote with your feet.

Art on the Road and More: July 2009
http://samhunter42.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Art on the Road and More. Friday, July 31, 2009. The Bridge of Sighs. I know scaffolding can be ugly, but I can't say I find coating the sights and landmarks in advertising any more beautiful. Sigh. I love to get to the top of buildings – I just never tire of the bird’s eye view. Maybe because it’s fun to point out the things I recognize, or maybe because it re-calibrates my world view a little. Or should we aim to reach a broader audience? Interesting questions to ponder. Thursday, July 30, 2009. The sq...

Art on the Road and More: August 2010
http://samhunter42.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Art on the Road and More. Thursday, August 5, 2010. A couple of days ago I had a delightful conversation with my friend John about color. Of all the aspects of art that turn me on (and there are many) color reigns high. Knowing how to manipulate color is like having the keys to the kingdom. John’s words about how I use color in my work are still marinating upstairs, and I will write about the results when I start cooking the ideas. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Art on the Road and More: Why I Like Mad Men
http://samhunter42.blogspot.com/2012/03/why-i-like-mad-men.html
Art on the Road and More. Sunday, March 25, 2012. Why I Like Mad Men. Image courtesy of these folks. Sometimes a peek at the past can show you just how far you've come, baby. As an aside, such moments in the show are raising my consciousness for the older battles of feminism so that I am armed for the ones we obviously have still to fight. but that's for a different day). Art on the Road and More: 50 Thoughts on Turning 50
http://samhunter42.blogspot.com/2011/12/50-thoughts-on-turning-50.html
Art on the Road and More. Tuesday, December 6, 2011. 50 Thoughts on Turning 50. A time for reflection and introspection. Time for a party filled with embarrassing gifts of prune juice and adult diapers. The big five-oh. Mid-century. Half way done, should I be so lucky. A few thoughts on that. In the inimitable words of the Monty Python gang – I’m not dead yet! Turning 30 was a relief. Turning 40 made me feel powerful. Turning 50 makes me feel grateful. Questioning authority is still fashionable. Although...

Art on the Road and More: Oh, Thank Cuteness!
http://samhunter42.blogspot.com/2011/11/oh-thank-cuteness.html
Art on the Road and More. Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Oh, Thank Cuteness! My friend Jake, who spearheads Generation Q Magazine. Got a blog topic going this week - "Oh, Thank Cuteness! She wrote about her daughter, and invited the readers to chime in with their versions. She got me to thinking about my son Steve, known to many in my life as The Boy (the capitalization is honorific here) and so here goes. We are tight, Steve and I - and this is the greatest thing in the world to me. They say you can ...

Art on the Road and More: November 2010
http://samhunter42.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Art on the Road and More. Monday, November 22, 2010. My web site is finally up and live, after much wrangling, hand-wringing, and extraordinarily colorful language - and we all know how much I love color! It has only been two years since I bought the domain name. It has been one heck of an education. I would love to say that I programmed it myself but I bailed on that once I realized that I should stick to what I'm good at, and pay money to people who are good at other things like designing sites! We mak...
