It’s A Dog’s Life. A dog once lived who loved cakes. We had a girls day out last Thursday and I did a really good job of not spending too much when we were shopping! I was honestly saving for lunch because we had decided to try Edinburgh Larder Bistro in the West End. I absolutely loved this place, it was so rustic and original, yet very… Read More Edinburgh Larder Bistro. June 8, 2015. July 9, 2015. June 7, 2015. July 9, 2015. Markets, Markets, Markets. It’s A Dog’s Life. A dog once lived who loved cakes. Baked: The State of Our Planet. A little while ago I mentioned that I would be starting my masters dissertation project and that it would involve cupcakes. I’m happy to say that I am well underway with this project now! This was the rough copy of the front page that I designed for the project. Right now I’m gathering feedback on the draft of the book from various people in Edinburgh. I baked quite a lot of cake for this! July 9, 2015. July 9, 2015.

On not being a student anymore. – Sam Loves Cake
https://samlovescake.com/2015/08/09/on-not-being-a-student-anymore
It’s A Dog’s Life. A dog once lived who loved cakes. On not being a student anymore. After eighteen years of education, just as my first nephew is about to start his, I am finishing mine. It’s an odd feeling to be approaching the end of summer and not be gearing up for new classes. At one point I wanted to become a window cleaner. Then came the big decision which university, and to do what? I like the hat – maybe I should have gone to flight school. Or a mechanic – that could have worked. August 9, 2015.

Because learning (and failing) is the cornerstone of the twenties plight. As a resident INFP, I think a lot about the nuances and politics of language. We even had the chance to talk about it in relation to sexuality and relationships during our ALF meeting today. What does it mean to structure ourselves around a series of implications and stereotypes? Is that something we can explain away just because that’s how society has continued to be? Or is this something that we should change for the better?
My Top 10 of 2016 - Not Evie
https://notevie.com/2016/12/29/top-10-2016
My Top 10 of 2016. Back in January I had this great idea of what 2016 would be. I decided (in a cliché way) that this year would be about me. What that meant was that I didn’t want to get into any kind of serious relationship, I didn’t want to stress or make decisions around other people, and I wanted to live by myself. I’m a reluctant introvert, and 2016 was about embracing that side of me. Took a journalism course. Won tickets to The Arches launch party. My first time in Italy, and my first holiday.

Why College Students Should Write Every Day | thetwentiesacademic
https://thetwentiesacademic.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/why-college-students-should-write-every-day
Because learning (and failing) is the cornerstone of the twenties plight. Why College Students Should Write Every Day. It’s none of their business that you have to learn to write. Let them think you were born that way. 8211; Ernest Hemingway. But why does this really matter to college students? For those of you still in the Valentine’s day spirit, writing is a sweet (and less costly and cliche) way of express your feelings for someone. I’m a big fan of letter writing myself, as I believe it is an ama...

Though even if you’re using it as a social outlet, I always caution people to make their tweets private if you’re going to use your name and picture. Let Feminists Be Feminine | thetwentiesacademic
https://thetwentiesacademic.wordpress.com/2014/03/17/let-feminists-be-feminine
Because learning (and failing) is the cornerstone of the twenties plight. Let Feminists Be Feminine. As I’ve stated a few times, I identify as a feminist. But when I first started to identify as a feminist what really got to me was the questioning of my femininity. I’m someone who focuses a lot of things that are traditionally feminine makeup, nail polish, fancy clothes/dress/etc., and I’m sure I have a host of other traditionalist pursuits. How do you stand your hair being so coarse? And this is just an...

but this love is dangerous
You can't make homes out of human beings; someone should have already told you that. It never occurred to them that, sure, maybe they never really had a roof and four walls… but they were never, in fact, homeless. Richard Siken (via larmoyante.
