Adding life to years…. Namhalli (Our Village) is a comprehensive district HIV programme, undertaken as part of the national programme. Through this, Samraksha works with the local communities through link workers who are young people from the very villages, who are able to give correct information about HIV to the different groups in the village, and also link people to HIV prevention, care and support services. Adding life to years…. NamKaushalya (Our skills) is about enhancing skills within the community for HIV care. Through this programme care volunteers within the community get training on basics of HIV care, managing HIV at home, supporting affected families, and referral to service. It also builds capacities for counseling among community counselors, who can provide psychosocial support to affected people and families.
