A Play Place for Ponders. A Theology of Words. Not Gay Enough For Huff Post. Posted by Samantha Curley. September 25, 2013. I wrote this article two months ago for the Huffington Post and was told it wasn’t “gay enough” to be posted on their Gay Voices page. On some level I understand. Maybe it’s not. And that’s okay. But at the same time, I feel like this is indicative of a posture coming from both conservative. LGBT communities. A posture that. 8212;——————-. Racy headlines lead to angry blog posts....

A Play Place for Ponders. A Theology of Words. Posted by Samantha Curley. November 15, 2013. The non-profit I started, called Level Ground, is finishing a big fundraising campaign on Indiegogo today! I’ve been writing a lot on behalf of Level Ground for this campaign and wanted to share these posts here because I am proud of them and have been processing a lot about what I’m doing through writing each of them…more on that to come. A Play Place for Ponders. A Theology of Words. Posted by Samantha Curley. December 31, 2009. I get Seth Godin’s blog sent to my email every day. (And if you don’t, you should! Click on the Website tab of this page to find out how.) Reading his blog is probably one of the most valuable daily routines I have. Today he asked the question – Seven years from now, what will you have to show for what you’re doing right now? I could be doing exactly what I’m doing now, exactly where I’m doing it. My name is Sama...

A Play Place for Ponders. A Theology of Words. Posted by Samantha Curley. March 6, 2013. 8220;it probably takes him the rest of his life to understand what had happened…”. This was the last line in one of my favorite blog followings today. As someone who highly values understanding, this sentiment is striking. I’m not very old, but it seems like the older I get, the less I can hope to understand…. Writes about this process with insight and hope. As we live with questions instead of striving for under...

A Play Place for Ponders. A Theology of Words. Posted by Samantha Curley. February 24, 2013. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Last night (which, may I suggest, you do the same – it’s a Netflix instant stream and an emerging classic), I was reminded of the powerful appeal to forget. The name of the movie is based on a poem called. How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! My name i...

Ramblings of a ragamuffin. Ragamuffin: noun /ˈragəˌməfən/ 1. the bedraggled, beat-up, and burnt-out ; the marginalized people to whom Jesus ministered: the children, the ill, the tax collectors, the women. Monday, October 31, 2011. The truth about who I am - in all my brokenness and sinfulness. And the bigger and more salient truth that God is graceful, and through Jesus, we are rescued and redeemed. How much do I tell? Is there such a thing as an over-share in the blogosphere? In the most simple and rea...

April 10, 1910. Welcome to Sam's Story. Free Fiction All Right. April 10, 1910. The night express from Paris speeds through the dark French countryside. The border with Alsace and Strasbourg are still hours away. At every grade crossing the shrill whistle screams warnings but only distant owls bother to reply. On board passengers toss and turn in search of slumber but not all are still. In a dark passage two men meet. They are strangers. They know one another only by signs and signals.

Sam's Storybook
Thursday, March 17, 2011. If I had only known. Our beautiful boy, Sam, died at home on 23 June 2009 - he was brave and fearless until the end. Until we meet again, Sam. If I had only known (to Sam, dearest brother and best friend). If I had only known it was our last walk in the rain. I'd keep you out for hours in the storm. I would hold your hand, like a life-line to my heart. And underneath the thunder we'd be warm. If I had only known I'd never hear your voice again. You were the treasure in my heart.

A Play Place for Ponders. A Theology of Words. Repairing the Cosmos: Things hidden and things healed. Posted by Samantha Curley. May 19, 2014. I heard this story by physician Rachel Naomi Remen during an On Being podcast today. It’s a story she remembers her grandfather reciting about tikkun olam, the repairing of the cosmos: In the beginning there was only the holy darkness; the Ein Sof, the source of life. And then in the course of history, at a moment … Continue reading →. Posted by Samantha Curley.

Welcome To My World. Sunday, July 13, 2008. My blog is gone! Ohwait, there it is! I will continue to post my poems, updates on me and my family, and talk about the Twilight saga there. In the future I may set up a blog similar to this. One on wordpress. And let me remind you that my blog over at wordpress is still very very new. I'll be trying different layouts and such for a few days just to see what one I like best. Wednesday, July 9, 2008. Kaleb Nation, a.k.a 'The Twilight Guy', has. So, here it is.
