Nine Week Wanderlust

Monday, August 07, 2006. Frenzy of Umbrella Shoppers (when it started only spitting). Later in the evening, I met up with Bryan and Lyndsay again, this time in the American-full (due to a Military base) Itaewon district, known for a busier nightlife. We randomly found a Canadian bar full of Canadiana such as license plates, hockey jerseys, and T-shirts with slogans such as "Get the pUCK out! We enjoyed a few drinks with the ex-patriot crowd. Bry in the Bar. Wooden Hand Rails for Stairs (Palace Museum).

Nine Week Wanderlust: S.L. in K.L.

http://www.samtrip.blogspot.com/2006/07/sl-in-kl.html

Saturday, July 01, 2006. SL in K.L. So after about 28 hours of ferry, train, and bus Brendan and I have arrived in beautiful and bustling Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia has greeted us well without trouble through the border and a nice lunch stop in Butterworth. Near the bus station there, I hungrily searched for a nearby food stop and to my surprise found a road side stall ("Gai-pai-dong" in Cantonese) that serves South-Sea-Chicken Rice ("Hoi-lam-gai-fan")! Nine Week Wanderlust: Southern Arrival and Contrasts

http://www.samtrip.blogspot.com/2006/06/southern-arrival-and-contrasts.html

Thursday, June 22, 2006. Southern Arrival and Contrasts. After getting on a night train from Prachuap Khiri Khan at 1:30am, we arrived in Surat Thani in the south and connect with a bus and ferry to Ko Samui ("Ko" means island), the largest island off of Thailand's southeastern coast. Chaweng beach is 6 km long and very beautiful. The only downside is that there are tons of vacationers here, and of course the usual flow of people trying to sell us goods. The huge difference I've observed so far here on C...

Nine Week Wanderlust: So Long Central Thailand (and Old Man Matt Foster)

http://www.samtrip.blogspot.com/2006/06/so-long-central-thailand-and-old-man.html

Thursday, June 22, 2006. So Long Central Thailand (and Old Man Matt Foster). So on our final night in Bangkok, staying in the infamous Khao San road area full of backpackers (and more recently the expansion of shops and corporations out to profit from travelers), we managed to meet up with my two friend Amar Kher and Dave Lotimer (both Chem Eng'06 at Queen's). It has been a great pleasure traveling with Matt, and maybe to a greater extent, living with the guy for 4 years! Will miss you buddy! For 9 weeks...

Friday, July 07, 2006. From Laksa to Lassi. Delhi is an absolutely amazing city. I have just tried to explain a little bit of my first 2 days here and have never had so much trouble explaining myself. You just have to experience it - I'm sorry! I've attached a few sites below with some maps and info if you're interested:. Http:/ www.lonelyplanet.com/mapimages/indian subcontinent/india/india.gif.
