Plummer Party: February 2012
http://plummerparty.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 08, 2012. This is Tristan's First Lego League team, The Gear Heads. Wait. is Tristan the shortest? I think so. The kid, two kids to his right, is even a year younger. At the end they gave out awards. We didn't win anything. It was really quite arbitrary. The points for the robot game were straight forward, but they got points for "robot design" and "enthusiasm", etc. What constitutes good robot design and how are these people qualified to judge this? Tristan said on the way home, "Wel...

Plummer Party: Catch all
http://plummerparty.blogspot.com/2012/09/catch-all.html
Tuesday, September 04, 2012. We sent Jack to a BYU football camp this summer. He hated it. You would think it would be exciting to practice and play on the Cougar Stadium field. Evidently not. While Jack practiced I took Hudson and Tristan to EVERY museum on BYU's campus. This was at Thanksgiving Point which is near our house. Mom was visiting and we decided to go on the way home. If I remember correctly it was really smoky. There was a fire close by. Hudson doesn't want to be left out. This is me pinnin...

Calder Connection: Sissy Is 7
http://calderconnection.blogspot.com/2014/02/sissy-is-7.html
Tuesday, February 18, 2014. For Della's birthday we took her to Target and let her pick out her gifts. It took at least 30 minutes as she indecisively vacillated between 3 toys. Chad caved and bought her two toys (Dora and Lalaloopsy Baby). Afterward we took her to Baskin-Robbins where she could enjoy her favorite dessert, mint-chip ice cream. And let's not forget this handsome boy (who needs a haircut). I was thinking about her this week and wishing we lived closer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Calder Connection: Another ASXL3 Family!
http://calderconnection.blogspot.com/2014/01/another-asxl3-family.html
Thursday, January 16, 2014. We have met another family whose child has the same ASXL3 genetic mutation that Della has! I also learned that the disease has been named Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome, so I will be using that term as well. Anyway, Dr. Bainbridge contacted me last week and offered to facilitate contact and networking with some of the families of children who have the same diagnosis as Della. And that's how we met Damien! Look at his eyes! I already love him! The community of Special Needs parents...

Calder Connection: November 2011
http://calderconnection.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 23, 2011. I know everyone is concerned that the Calders have disappeared, but don't you fret! We are alive and well here in Texas! Our big vacation this year was to Utah where we were able to visit grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings. Della was really excited to leave on vacation. Especially after enduring the Texas summer (the hottest summer on record since of any state ever since they started taking records! One of his visits ended like this. Archer was completely sta...

Plummer Party: April 2012

Friday, April 20, 2012. Knowledge Bowl and general update. Getting a pep talk. Amanda, Tyler and kids came for a visit. Here were are visiting Fireman Brian. She said, "Hey was that you with all those kids on the side of the road the other day? I said, "Yes, that was me.". She said, "That looked awful. I should've stopped. Sorry.". We did have a potty emergency and I called Tristan for some emergency support. He ran up to us and I took Nora and ran home to the bathroom. Wait was she just flattering me?
