Reconstruction of schooner Hebridee II. Has been in the process of being rebuilt since she arrived at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in September, 2009. Sandy's Ramblings: June 2015

http://www.sandblings.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

A repository for whatever wisdom (or lack thereof) I choose to dispense. Probably consisting mostly of Naval and Maritime history, Photography, or a combination thereof. Wednesday, 17 June 2015. HMCS PRESERVER: Bridge and Ops Room Tour. Looking to port on the bridge of PRESERVER. This compass is located roughly on the ship's centreline. The two grey boxes hanging on either side of the window above the compass indicate RPM (for the shaft I assume) and rudder position. Looking to port and slightly aft.

Sandy's Ramblings: May 2015

A repository for whatever wisdom (or lack thereof) I choose to dispense. Probably consisting mostly of Naval and Maritime history, Photography, or a combination thereof. Saturday, 30 May 2015. HMCS PRESERVER: Machinery Control Room. Unlike the MCR in the modern HALIFAX class, or even in the IROQUOIS class. Just a few years newer than PRESERVER herself, this MCR is not automated and retains a high level of manual control over the systems. Main electrical control panel. The turbo-alternators, and the diese...

http://www.sandblings.blogspot.com/2015/08/blue-dream-project-schooner-wooden.html

A repository for whatever wisdom (or lack thereof) I choose to dispense. Probably consisting mostly of Naval and Maritime history, Photography, or a combination thereof. Thursday, 6 August 2015. Blue Dream Project Schooner - Wooden Boatbuilding. The old Smith and Rhuland shed. Within I found a new wooden schooner being built. The Blue Dream Project. The 60-foot long schooner is roughly half the size of the 111-foot long (waterline) Bluenose, so there is some room to move around her in the shed. This ...

Sandy's Ramblings: L'Hermione in Lunenburg - Part 1

http://www.sandblings.blogspot.com/2015/07/lhermione-in-lunenburg-part-1.html

A repository for whatever wisdom (or lack thereof) I choose to dispense. Probably consisting mostly of Naval and Maritime history, Photography, or a combination thereof. Saturday, 18 July 2015. L'Hermione in Lunenburg - Part 1. Due to the shear number of photos I took of her arrival today, I am breaking this blog post into two parts, Part 1 covering her arrival and Part 2 covering detailed photos of the ship from the wharf. Led the way, followed by L'Hermione. HMCS GOOSE BAY, and CCGS Samuel Risley.

Sandblechsurfer

Monday, June 18. A lady brought turtles and other fun animals to Graham's school for the kids to enjoy! G talked and talked about the animals! This makes me laugh every time I see it! We took a quick trip to Indy to enjoy the children's museum, indoor swimming, and city life! It was super fun - graham thinks its the best place ever and can't wait to go back. Wednesday, March 21. Graham helped me make blueberry scones! He enjoyed the "ginormous" mess! Girls to NC, boys to the movies. Some of Our Favorites.
