One Hand Clapping: Book Review: The Trade of Queens
http://unsymbolization.blogspot.com/2010/06/book-review-trade-of-queens.html
Musings, Mutterings, and Mad Beautiful Ideas. Thursday, June 3, 2010. Book Review: The Trade of Queens. The Trade of Queens. Is the sixth and supposedly concluding book in the Merchant Princes series. If you haven't read the earlier books, this one will confuse the hell out of you, regardless of all the efforts to update people on the plot. I found those little summaries of what has happened so far useful to keep up and I've read the other five novels, just not in a short span of time. Posted by Doug S.

One Hand Clapping: Review: The Boys Vol 1-4 by Garth Ennis
http://unsymbolization.blogspot.com/2010/02/review-boys-vol-1-4-by-garth-ennis.html
Musings, Mutterings, and Mad Beautiful Ideas. Friday, February 26, 2010. Review: The Boys Vol 1-4 by Garth Ennis. I read these on someone else's recommendation: a librarian who went so far as to put them in my hands. He's had some good suggestions for other reads, so I went with this one and felt obligated to finish them. But I didn't take long doing it. Even his big "shocker" reveals are pretty damn predictable. His Professor X knockoff is a pedophile who has abused all the members of his teams when...

One Hand Clapping: March 2010
http://unsymbolization.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Musings, Mutterings, and Mad Beautiful Ideas. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. This post is an expansion of a comment I made on the blog Some Space to Think, specifically on "Blood From a Stone,. A blog post about electronic publishing. Someone made the comparison between RPG books and textbooks and wondered what textbooks would be doing electronically in the future. Neither of these approaches is innovative. As it stands now, the textbook business is pretty conservative in terms of technology. Partly that's bec...

One Hand Clapping: December 2009

Musings, Mutterings, and Mad Beautiful Ideas. Thursday, December 31, 2009. Windows 7 Still Sucks. That's right, it's less than a week old. Barely has any damn files loaded on it after I deleted the bulk of the junk it came with. Half the time when I reboot I end up with a blank screen, and the rest of the time I get my crippled Windows 7 desktop, which is prettier but ultimately just as useless. Very small potatoes compared to this insanity. And I paid for this privilege. Posted by Doug S. In terms of re...

One Hand Clapping: September 2009

Musings, Mutterings, and Mad Beautiful Ideas. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. You Didn't Know It, But We Were Having a Race, and I Won. This is the sort of thing my kids say to each other, more or less, all the time. They are constantly staging races with each other over the silliest things. Well, I am also susceptible to such foolishness. At the start of this month, I set myself the goal of posting more blog entries for the month of September than my friend Aaron (at Anecdotal Evidence. One Hand Clapping: Google Analytics Has Killed All My Pages
http://unsymbolization.blogspot.com/2010/06/google-analytics-has-killed-all-my.html
Musings, Mutterings, and Mad Beautiful Ideas. Saturday, June 5, 2010. Google Analytics Has Killed All My Pages. This is how technology works, or fails to work. It promises you all sorts of added functionality, then bombs out on providing even the basic stuff. And then it calls to you to waste your time or alter your behavior just so you can try to keep it running. Posted by Doug S. Http:/ indiandresssellingworld.blogspot.com/. May 22, 2011 at 3:33 PM. One Hand Clapping: October 2009
http://unsymbolization.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Musings, Mutterings, and Mad Beautiful Ideas. Saturday, October 31, 2009. I have a confession to make. Halloween is probably my least favorite of the major holidays each year. On Valentine's Day I like to get chocolates and flowers for my wife. The Fourth of July is loud but shooting off a few small fireworks around the house is fine and as long as we don't have to go to one of the big fireworks displays where there are huge crowds (with the interminable parking jams that result), I'm happy. I'm also not...

One Hand Clapping: April 2010

Musings, Mutterings, and Mad Beautiful Ideas. Monday, April 26, 2010. If the Tea Party Was Black. This is a thought-provoking post. Asking how we would view the actions of the Tea Party if its participants were black, which actually refers to events that have taken place in the name of the Tea Party and the hateful things that people supporting it have said. Astonishingly, there are still a few people who bothered to offer comments that boil down to just saying, "Nuh-uh! Posted by Doug S. But when I walk...
