Cave Run Storytelling Festival. Thursday, July 24, 2008. I just got contacted yesterday and it turns out that I won a teaching award for the 2006-2007 academic year at the University of Illinois. I was kind of surprised to hear about it so late, but late is definitely better than never! The award is currently listed here. I can't help but reflect on how much my Teach For America. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. The race gave $75 gift certificates to our local running store, Body N' Sole. To the top three male ...

Greg's Blog: Illinois Marathon
http://gescott14.blogspot.com/2009/05/illinois-marathon.html
Cave Run Storytelling Festival. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. It's been quite some time since I've posted anything here, so I'll come back to it with a race report from the first annual Illinois Marathon. 2008 was a disastrous marathon year for me. I felt like I was in really good shape heading into both Boston. 1) I would train at lower volume than I have for my previous marathons. I still wanted a bit of a break from the training. I put in a lot of weeks around 50 miles and I peaked at just 60.5...2) I woul...

Greg's Blog: Evolution of basketball tickets
http://gescott14.blogspot.com/2008/12/evolution-of-basketball-tickets.html
Cave Run Storytelling Festival. Tuesday, December 09, 2008. Evolution of basketball tickets. Aside from having good seats this year, the good news is that the Illini appear to be much better than I had expected them to be. Hopefully, that continues to be true as we start to play in the Big 10. If I keep buying tickets after you guys leave, and continue pictures in the same fashion, by the time I graduate it will just be a picture of Bruce from about 2 feet away. May 30, 2012. University City Memorial Day 10K. After dealing with a knee problem all winter 2010-2011, I started running again last spring and raced (for the first time in months) the University City Memorial Day 5K. It was a good race, and it was the start of a year-long (and counting) progression to my current peak fitness. In the year since then I've raced 23 times, with 2 wins and 11 finishes in 4th place overall or higher. It's been a good year. Wait, isn't there also a 10K? This was my 3rd 10K eve...

January 4, 2013. October, November, December 2012. Well, it's been a while. November and December were a little bit crazy for me on account of a project I was working on in my spare time. Some other guy (not me). Cycling was virtually non-existent for me the past few months. I did one cyclocross race in November on no training and somehow still wound up with a good result. The lack of bike miles towards the end of the year almost allowed my modest running mileage to catch up. Photo of the Day. Forest Par...
