I well remember the first man who walked into our office. All of us were paralyzed when he presented his problem. We told him that we would have to do some research and would he come back in two days. He said, Of course. And we immediately called BE and asked him to come and talk to our client while we observed how BE solved the problem. Gradually we all became proficient counselors. SHINE services are free of charge. The volunteer state certified counselors with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs have undergone extensive training which is upgraded periodically due to changes which have occurred. The counselors will assist clients with specific problems or questions and then help the client to understand specific parts of the Medicare system so he can effectively manage his own affairs. 124; About Me.
