Sandrino Piva è nato a Castel San Giovanni. Piccolo borgo della provincia di Piacenza, il 12 ottobre 1939 e sin dalla sua infanzia ha dimostrato una notevole passione e predisposizione per la musica. Pur coltivando nel contempo l'interesse per la "bicicletta".
