Sandspit - British Columbia. WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY OF SANDSPIT. We are a community located on the north east tip of Moresby Island, located on Haida Gwaii, Queen Charlotte Islands. It gets its name from its location on a long peninsula of sand and gravel, giving it wonderful ocean views of the calm inlets to the west and the wild Hecate Strait to the east. It has the largest airport on Haida Gwaii, a modern marina, and a great Visitor Centre. The famous Park Reserve located in the south of the islands.
