Belatedness; no crime in Africa! Tuesday, December 6th, 2011.8:55 am. HIV/AIDS: how has Uganda measured up! December 1, 2011 passed with a lot of nostalgic talk from politicians, policymakers, activists and observers for a country–Uganda–once billed as one of the models of the world for its open approach towards the fight against HIV/AIDS. Way then, HIV/AIDS was billed in no uncertain terms save for being a disease for infidels and those found immoral–all hogwash! The fight against HIV has been a real ti...

February 11th, 2011. Politics of promises: where do we stand! February 2011 has come; to Ugandans to realities of going back to polls for a fourth time since Museveni came to power in 1986 to elect their leaders best among them the president, MPs, local councilors etc. This time around Ugandans seem to have matured; political campaigns thus far have not been orchestrated by violence something almost unthinkable in a third world country like this one. Vincent has mustered strength and looks unstoppable!

In the wake of 7/11. Politics of promises: where do we stand! Tuesday, September 7th, 2010.11:27 am. World full of more confusion than confession! I don’t know how this happens over and over again but whether I’m in Denmark, South Africa, Malaysia, and to say the least my own country Uganda, I’m confronted and mistakenly so, by a horde of people who think I’m the real fellow they think I’m yet in the actual sense I seem to be just a lookalike of so many people out there. If I’m not a lookalike of a certa...

Donâ t blame it on the weather. When Gaetano equals Big Brother. Wednesday, July 25th, 2007.5:37 pm. In South Western Uganda lies the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest that offers sanctuary to wild animals, one of which is the endangered Mountain Gorilla. Similarly, Iâ ve heard stories, some of which I canâ t qualify that if a population of a certain creature becomes less, and reproduction of it is slow, such a creature lies in the bracket of endangered species. I know that most people here might consider this ...

Politics of promises: where do we stand! Belatedness; no crime in Africa! Thursday, March 3rd, 2011.1:35 pm. Landing of the prince: story of mixed emotions! Africa is a luscious place; abundant labour and abundant fruits! It’s here that everything that happens is presumed to be orchestrated by those that love or hate us. Mother and baby are doing well, although still in hospital but pending discharge anytime! Now that Bil (read a boy) has finally landed, happiness surrounds everybody especially the girls...

Ugandan martyrs could’ve died in vain. Thursday, June 5th, 2008.6:10 pm. Oddity of humans chewing cud. I’ve not grasped yet how a person can go on and on exercising his or her jaws or what some people refer to as mandibles from dawn to dusk, all in the interest of having an aerated orifice (read mouth). I’ve seen quite a number of men and women, especially those who’re so much into this habit gyrating jaws to confirm that they’re spin masters and mistresses of their own trade. Someone might as well conde...

Africa’s world cup of many climaxes and anticlimaxes. World full of more confusion than confession! Thursday, July 22nd, 2010.7:43 am. In the wake of 7/11. Kampala is slowly getting to grips with reality; tranquility is a misnomer, what happened happened and just in a nip of time life and lifestyles have been affected. The usually vibrant city is deserted, an unusual quiet in bars, restaurants and other high traffic places looms. In Jinja over the weekend I can’t believe it. A colleague Eddie forgets...
