Sand Travelers

Friday, March 30, 2012. And a shout out to our trusty little Mitsubishi that swerved many a missing manhole, squeezed between lines of traffic and endured several dentings. I previously told of our little car's loyalty to us in refusing to start for the soldiers who cleaned out all the other private cars. Here is the extent of their efforts. Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Sand Travelers: March 2011

http://www.sandtravelers.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 28, 2011. Sunday, school was in session and promised to be for the rest of the week. Forty-five percent of the students were in attendance at the beginning of the day, but throughout the day parents arrived at classroom doors to take their children to the airport for departure; the multinational companies were evacuating and other families were following suit. I wonder how many were actually present by the time school finished. We were all tense; all wondering what was happening. Calling of...

Sand Travelers: September 2011

http://www.sandtravelers.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 21, 2011. The status of our "home" has been part of the loss we've felt over the months. A few weeks ago we heard that all the cars parked at our school (for safety) had definitely been taken by the regime forces for use in the war. Yes, we are giddy with the news it is still in that parking lot. It's probably symbolic. The car is the most expensive asset we left, but not the most memorable and not the one we'd be most sad to lose. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Traveling is Exceptional

Luxevo the Evolution of Travel. Your Daily Cup of News. Tuesday, November 13, 2012. We Made it to Cuba! Sally and I have dreamed of visiting Cuba for years. With the silly US embargo's US citizens were forbidden to travel there. Obama has made it possible for us to go there with certain licensed travel companies. We went in October 2012 and it was fantastic! We saw a lot of "bootstrap" type businesses or Cubans lifting themselves up with small business. Beautiful Happy School Children. Links to this post.

Sandtrax After Hours

Friday, May 15, 2009. Back in the day. In order to keep up with the Bishop, I feel like I've got to post an old school pic of me on my first Yamaha Blaster. Old school JT pants, AXO boots, Shoei helmet, Adidas tank top with 'guns' blazin'! I've got the helmet and pants in a closet. The boots got a lot of miles and fell apart in the Houston humidity. The tank top was sold at a garage sale for fifty cents. The Blaster still makes noise but a different old guy rides it now. Monday, May 4, 2009. Why would Fe...
