Pomo Honoring in Sebastopol. Friday, March 11, 2011. Vana Lawson: A Dream in Her Honor. Last night I and three others from the Pomo Project- Janey Hirsh, Laura Shafer, and Sterling Hoffmann- attended a memorial service to honor her memory and her life. We were deeply moved by the outpouring of affection witnessed by so many she had sheltered, counseled, and nourished over the years. In the pre-dawn, I had this dream:. Protection for the children of destitute families. Indian gaming seen in a new light.

The dirt between my toes,. The sun pours down upon my crown,. The mighty river flows. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. Of bird song in the trees,. The air is dense with fragrant scents. http://blue-coyote.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Blue Coyote and Friends. Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Thunder Woman and Great Jay. Thunder Woman has appeared many times now, but Great Jay is new. I think he's showed up at the urging of the scrub jays who keep me as their pet. I first painted him talking to Snow Kachina, which I'll post when winter returns. Here he and Thunder Woman seem to be reaching some kind of agreement while the swans head north for spring. About halfway into painting this image, I got upset with it. I hated. It Just too tame! Raised b...

Blue Coyote & Friends
http://blue-coyote.blogspot.com/2013/08/eagle-man-buffalo-dreamer-and-dead-cow.html
Blue Coyote and Friends. Thursday, August 15, 2013. Eagle Man, Buffalo Dreamer, and the Dead Cow. Often in the series called "Blue Coyote and Friends" images arise first as titles. As I emerged from sleep one early morning, this title was my first waking thought: "Eagle Man, Buffalo Dreamer, and the Dead Cow." Weird, I thought, what can it mean? I trust this process, and after breakfast started a sketch. Eagle Man and Buffalo Dreamer are familiar characters, but how exactly does a dead cow look? I often ...
