http://lorikiplingerpandy.blogspot.com/2015/02/life-sized-clay-study-of-least-bittern.html
Sculpting in fired ceramic clay and oil based clay for bronze sculpture. Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Life sized clay study of Least Bittern Bird. This is a life-sized clay study that I started at Sandy Scott's. Bird workshop at the Scottdale Artists School. I also chose this bird as it is a wader and I had some ideas for placing it within reeds and wanted to work out my own ideas for casting and basing. Labels: Chavant Le Beau Touche. COLOR AND LIGHT: Spotted Towhee
http://adeleearnshaw.blogspot.com/2014/10/spotted-towhee.html
JUST DON'T HESITATE TO EXAGGERATE COLOR AND LIGHT. DON'T WORRY ABOUT TELLING LIES. THE MOST TIRESOME PICTURES ARE THE STUPIDLY TRUTHFUL ONES - Wm Merritt Chase. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. A Spotted Towhee is today's little oil study. This bird used to be known as Rufous-sided Towhee but for some reason, the name has been changed. Or the lack of edges. The idea is to suggest an edge without painting a hard line. Birds are the perfect subject matter for this exercise. 309 - Spotted Towhee.

JUST DON'T HESITATE TO EXAGGERATE COLOR AND LIGHT. DON'T WORRY ABOUT TELLING LIES. THE MOST TIRESOME PICTURES ARE THE STUPIDLY TRUTHFUL ONES - Wm Merritt Chase. Thursday, October 30, 2014. Today's little oil study is a Great Blue Heron. My goal in doing this current batch of oil studies is to get better at softening edges. So much for soft edges on this piece! It fought me all the way - so I left the edges harder than I wanted and spent way. 310 - Great Blue Heron. 7" x 5" oil on panel, unframed. New Wor...

This 12" x 9" oil was inspired by one of the little owls I did for my 75 for 75 oil study project. I painted it a while ago but this morning, repainted the background. Wow - what a difference! This will be one of the 25 originals I'll be exhibiting at the Waterfowl Festival. In Easton, Maryland - November 14-16.
