관촌 사선대는 물이 맑고 경치가 너무 아름다워 하늘에서 신선과 선녀들이 내려와 놀았다는 전설이 깃든 곳으로 매년 사선대에서 개최되는 소충 사선문화제전과 더불어 임실군에서 손꼽히는 관광명소이다. 성수산은 고려와 조선의 건국설화가 얽혀 있는 명산으로 무주의 덕유산에서부터 회문산으로 뻗어내린 노령산맥에 자리잡고 있다. 산의 높이가 876m로 그렇게 높은 산은 아니지만 계곡이 깊고 숲이 울창하며 정상에 오르면 시야가 탁 트여 사방으로 전망이 빼어나다. 아침햇살을 받아 호수면으로부터 아지랑이처럼 피어오르는 물안개가 마치 신선이나 노닐 법한 풍경으로 물들여지는 아름다운 옥정호. 물 맑기로 소문난 섬진강 상류에 자리잡은 옥정호는 일교차가 커서 물안개가 많이 발생하는 봄 가을에는 그야말로 풍경이 절정을 이룬다. 성수산은 고려 왕건태조와 이조 이성계태조가 각각 100일 기도하여 개국 창세했다는 설화가 있으며, 천혜의 자연경관을 휴양시설로 개발하여 사선대와 인접한 진안 마이산을 연계 관광 휴양지로 조성하고 있다.

In the schools we visited in Zambia, children are eager to go to school and participate – after all many times school is where they will be served their only meal and be fed new information – Zambian TV!
