Santa Cruz Mountains Chickens. We are located in the middle of the Santa Cruz Mountains and specialise primarily in a limited number of rare, hard to find and unusual breeds of large fowl that would grace anyones backyard, ranch or farm. We mainly source from European backgrounds and bloodlines when we can. It's a hobby yes, but one that's given 100% in care, housing and health of the birds they're all part of the family and are treated like royalty. And this year we're heading for NPIP certification.

Santa Cruz Mountains Chickens. These stunning Lavender or Self Blue birds were first developed in the USA in 2005, but their roots go back many years to the Kent area of Southern England. The White was bred in 1889, the Buff in 1894, and the Blue in 1905. When the breed was shown in Madison Square Gardens in 1895, its popularity soared and it's easy to see why being hardy, good layers with excellent temperaments doing well both in confinement and free range.

Santa Cruz Mountains Chickens. Marraduna Basque, Euskal Oiloas or simply Basque Hens. There is no friendlier breed than these guys, we were privileged enough to get hatching eggs last year from the only breeder in the U.S. Mr James Meeks of Skyline Poultry Tn. www.skylinepoultry.net. It was a first for the West Coast and as a result we will be the first to offer Euskal Oiloas chicks for sale in California. Basques could easily be the most intelligent chicken breed out there.
