http://sewwest.blogspot.com/2012/03/northern-new-mexico-retreat.html
Sewing and life in the high desert burbs of Albuquerque, NM. Sunday, March 25, 2012. Northern New Mexico Retreat. The last few weeks have been a blur, so apologies for going a little AWOL yet again. Let's see, still not sewing but there have been some sewing-like activities happening. A couple of weekends ago was the annual Vestry Retreat at Ghost Ranch in Northern New Mexico. So of course, I had to make a stop in Santa Fe on the trip north. Santa Fe Fabrics. Is in a pretty isolated stretch of Northern N...

SewWest: A Few Small Projects
http://sewwest.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-few-small-projects.html
Sewing and life in the high desert burbs of Albuquerque, NM. Monday, May 25, 2015. A Few Small Projects. It's been a cool and rainy month here in Albuquerque, so I haven't had much of an opportunity to take pictures of my most recent projects. Still, "happy for the rain," as you will hear almost every New Mexican say. Warmer and sunnier weather is inevitable, so hopefully I will be modeling some garments soon. You may have seen these on Facebook or Instagram already, but I also made some more rolled-edge.

Sew Intriguing: Sequin Dress Finished (with Photos!)
http://sewintriguing.blogspot.com/2015/01/sequin-dress-finished-with-photos.html
My sewing and knitting projects. Friday, January 02, 2015. Sequin Dress Finished (with Photos! This is my New Year's Eve gown. I was rather pleased with how it turned out, especially since I didn't cut it out until about 3pm on the 30th. It was all done but the hem by about 9:30. This is good old Vogue 1250 lengthened and with a baby train. Very similar to a tan knit gown I made and have loved. This is however, the first time I've worked with a sequined fabric. Nancy. Found this for me in Santa Fe. As fo...

The Designer's Lounge: May 2011

Thursday, May 19, 2011. A Bow Purse and My Lucky Stars. Brianna cut off the bottom of a dress and turned it into this FABULOUS bow purse. She applied an invisible zipper and made a strap with a button and buttonhole, later she intends to add lucite straps. What an ingenious way to take a garment and reconstruct something new! Last week these ladies became acquainted with the sewing machine, this week they made their first project and they turned out great! Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Saturday, May 14, 2011.

Lana Bolito Duster « Sew Santa Fe
https://sewsantafe.wordpress.com/2015/11/02/lana-bolito-duster
Stitching in the City Different. November 2, 2015. This duster is one of my favorite makes! The fabric, Lana Bolito, is a 60% viscose / 40% wool knit fabric that is very easy to work with. It is much lighter than traditional boiled wool and has a wonderful drape making it the perfect choice for this oversized duster. I purchased this fabric in several colors from Santa Fe Fabrics (. Psst – check out the current sale. And have made two versions for myself and one for my best girlfriend in Boston. My best ...

Stitching in the City Different. Author Archives: Diane A. Snowy, Sewy Day. February 7, 2016. Santa Fe has had a wonderful snow year due to El Nino. I’ve spent many hours on the ski slopes soaking up the fresh powder but have managed to make a couple of casual tops in the past few weeks. This one is a Katherine Tilton Butterick 5925, View A. I made the following alterations to the pattern:. Lengthened the sleeves by 3 inches for a “bunched up” look. Narrowed the sleeves by 1 inch for snugger fit. The fab...

Chirp + Chatter: December 2010
http://conversationalcollaborative.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 28, 2010. I LOVE my work, I'm addicted to it, and I just can't stop. Of course there are parts that aren't always so great, but the majority of the time, I am bouncing with glee over a wonderfully creative and challenging project. Recently, I had the joy of styling a photo shoot for two blogs I contribute to, both with different focuses for each company. I was inspired by a few bolts of vintage lace found at Santa Fe Fabrics. Jessie Santa Fe, NM. Monday, December 20, 2010. Thick yarn an...
