Seed Thoughts and Questions on Living Isaiah 58. With thanks to Wes White). Biblical hope has the power to effect change, since God is involved in effecting it. Looking for my fig tree: August 2006
http://lookingformyfigtree.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Looking for my fig tree. A record of some of my theological thoughts, some deep, some pretty shallow. The title comes from Micah 4:4. Monday, August 28, 2006. If Christians were Engines . If Christians were engines would they be fueled by a hatred of sin or by a loving concern for the plight of humanity? Do people become Christians because they share God's hatred of sin and seek the only way to be free from sin? Or is it because they are so truck with the depth of love God has for humanity? He world so m...

Looking for my fig tree: May 2006

Looking for my fig tree. A record of some of my theological thoughts, some deep, some pretty shallow. The title comes from Micah 4:4. Wednesday, May 24, 2006. Perhaps then as now, the questioning of doctrine was merely the outworking of contextual theology but for a late modern setting, even if looking back we would say they went too far in ending up with a Unitarian doctrine. So what is happening today? Although I don't want to say thats it for sure! Liberal theology had no option but to deny Trinity, b...

Nodrog's Gruntlings: October 2009
http://gruntlings.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
A whimsical wander through my life, bits of the universe, and everything else that is publishable. Personal reflection, stuff I've read on the web, a bit of theology if you're lucky. And now. periodic updates on my weight! Thursday, October 01, 2009. I'm thinking of returning to blogging. In fact, since I am writing this post, I guess I have returned but it could easily be a one-off (again! And if that applied in 'placement-land', it certainly goes double for probation. But worship is public material any...

Looking for my fig tree: Judging Judgement (1): Punishment
http://lookingformyfigtree.blogspot.com/2006/10/judging-judgement-1-punishment.html
Looking for my fig tree. A record of some of my theological thoughts, some deep, some pretty shallow. The title comes from Micah 4:4. Monday, October 09, 2006. Judging Judgement (1): Punishment. I'm curious about judgement and punishment. We cannot ignore their existence in the Bible, although some might like to do so in the name of cultural relevance. On the other hand, the search for cultural relevance has revealed a blase approach to the way terms like judgement and punishment are used. Brash By Name .

A whimsical wander through my life, bits of the universe, and everything else that is publishable. Personal reflection, stuff I've read on the web, a bit of theology if you're lucky. And now. periodic updates on my weight! Wednesday, July 23, 2008. A short but hopefully provocative post for my return to blogging. Having been reading all about the Glasgow East by-election, I happened across the BBC's Lambeth Diary. Probably all right. Ish. A bit. We think. Well most of us. Some at least. I include the Cof...
