Friday, March 25, 2011. The flush mechanism in our commode “froze up” this week, so Gerald is in the process of repairs. British designed commodes are on Gerald's “hate list”, along with hackberry trees, johnson grass, grackles, etc. A flush of our commode uses between 4-5 gallons of water with great sound and fury! We are in Harare again to do our 30 day renewal of our visas. We made the second half of our trip here on a 1. A termite exterminator crew is due the week of March 27. Monday, March 21, 2011.

Thorntons Ministry: HISTORY OF SANYATI BAPTIST HOSPITAL
http://www.thorntons.net/2015/02/history-of-sanyati-baptist-hospitalt.html
Monday, February 16, 2015. HISTORY OF SANYATI BAPTIST HOSPITAL. Baptist missionaries started work in the Sanyati area in 1950 with church planting and a school meeting under the trees. Due to the remoteness of the area and extreme medical needs, the husband and wife team Dr. Giles and Dr. Wanna Ann (a pediatrician) Fort answered the call, arriving in 1953. The hospital began with a simple thatched roof pole structure. The concrete floor still remains. Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment.

Friday, April 29, 2011. A puzzling electrical problem developed in house #2. Six electric outlets, including the kitchen, “wouldn't work”. Testing revealed 230 volts between the “live” wire and “earth”, and 175 volts between “neutral” and “earth”. Hours spent disconnecting ceiling fans, determining the outlets involved and disconnecting them one by one failed to eliminate the problem. Where did the voltage come from that was on the neutral? None of the other circuits in the house were affected. As soon a...

Thorntons Ministry: THE HITCH HICKER
http://www.thorntons.net/2015/03/the-hitch-hicker.html
Wednesday, March 11, 2015. That evening Dr. Byler concluded that she was three weeks past what should have been her due date. She hadn’t felt any movement for a couple of weeks and she was malnourished. He induced labor and she delivered another boy. Two days later, she returned to the flat, saying she needed $8 to get home. We gave her $10. A short while later we found out she had gone by the Byler’s house first, with the same request. They gave her $10. Subscribe to: Post Comments ( Atom ).
