Is home to a great variety of orchids of which Disas form a large group. Disas are terrestrial orchids known for their vibrant colours and breathtaking beauty, the most famous species being the Pride of Table Mountain, Disa uniflora (see picture on right). Are not difficult to cultivate so long as it is remembered that they are not tropical orchids and can be grown in cooler parts of the world. Have been developed which are generally more easily grown than the species and are recommended for beginners.
