So if you were expecting her to be named after Stockard Channing, you are out of luck. But it made me wonder, what parent would name their daughter Stockard, a name so close to "stock yard"? The professor mentioned that anytime we hear a word with "Al" in a name, it came from the ancient Islamic world. I did not know this.
