Ponderings, experiences, moods. I didn't mean to take this photo; it was one of. Those, "oops I took a photo of the floor" ones. To not accept something is to want to change it. A view of acceptance is realizing that we have done all that we can towards what we want. But why stop at all you can do? Could you stop much earlier too, and would it still be OK. or even preferable? Have you ever been told to just accept a situation, but being told this left you feeling frustrated? An analogy with drawing: when...

Songs of Sappsorrow: All you need is...

Sunday, 3 February 2013. All you need is. This is a song about love. Lost and found. Sitting in the ashes of my latest failed relationship, picking at the charred bones, the black sticks once so verdant, now rough and hollow, I ponder why this most natural inclination to faithfully love another and seek love in return goes so horribly wrong. Why are the dreams we're taught as children so difficult to attain? How have I ended up here again, and how can I avoid going back round the same cruel circle? It's ...

Songs of Sappsorrow: Curdling
http://songsofsappsorrow.blogspot.com/2012/12/curdling.html
Sunday, 9 December 2012. In the meantime I am relishing my time here more for knowing it is temporary. Winter in Taipei is very rainy but compared to Scotland it is still quite pleasant and at night I delight in being reminded of Blade Runner. This week I am taking a holiday and going to visit the reputedly stunning county of Hualien and Taroko Gorge national park, in the East of Taiwan. Location: Taipei City, Taiwan. Friday, 17 October 2014. Minding Your Own Business. On Saturday around lunchtime I was walking to Belsize Park tube to get the underground into town. I took the shortcut I always take, up the steps through Woodland Walk, past the tennis courts. Rounding the corner I looked up to see three men holding another up against an iron gate by the Tennis Club house, punching him. What do you do? This is a quote I came across a while ago and like on this topic:. O God, Give me strength to live another day. Preserv...

Ponderings, experiences, moods. A rational reconstruction of democratic thinking. How can we use technology to make democracy better? Can we make quicker and better decisions? The choices are those that we would come to make if we all thought long and deeply and did a lot of research; but they'd happen quicker than they do today. Can we make taking part in democracy a good experience? It should be educative, empowering, and fun for participants. Concept: democracy by entrusting thinkers. Should there be ...

Ponderings, experiences, moods. Costumes; a cornerstone of benevolant democracy. I like costumes. They are a cornerstone of democracy. The capacity to express oneself pseudonymous enables free-expression; it is a way to protect free-expression and allow people to speak out against corruption for example. As such, I see it as a foundation for benevolent democracy. So, time to dress up and support benevolent democracy! Feelings towards, and the object of attention. But here's the real punchline: there are ...

Ponderings, experiences, moods. Flaming cocktails… Last night I dreamt that I was in the garden of a british mansion house where people were having tea and croissants. I was there to fight in a mixed martial arts tournament against a fat lady with an axe. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The n-Category Café (technical). Microwavable Culture of Learning.
