Bayside for a bit. We ran down to the bay for a quick splash not knowing there would not be a beach day to share with Nate while he was in town. You can see the beginning of the storm brewing over the mountains. The next morning we woke to the banging and flashing of a thunderstorm that produced record shattering rainfall for July. Three hours of late day beach fun, including the beginning of hurricane surf whompers. Big swells were fun to glide over, looking back at the beach. Playing in the waves is always fun. I got a few good rides in, a couple wipe outs and had fun on the boogie board while the big kids played with Avery in the sand. The tide was really low making a great swimming pool for Avery. Besides the Garden Walk, this is the weekend for the Queen City Jazz Festival which goes from noon until 8 PM on Saturday at the Colored Musicians Club. Our friend told us the 148 miles of the Colorado Trail from Breckenridge to Salida was extremely pretty, and not too difficult. So off we went. Picture of Copper Mountain Ski Resort from the ridge.
