God is Good. All the Time.: Resurrection
http://mattandjennygo.blogspot.com/2012/11/theres-reason-its-been-so-long.html
God is Good. All the Time. Sunday, November 18, 2012. There's a reason it's been so long. Well, there are at least two reasons, one of them being smaller, chubbier, and bossier than the other one. Not exactly a writing style that is compatible with the life I have right now. This is how I feel most of the time, most days. If I thought my time was not my own with one little boy, it is abjectly not my own with two. (Is abjectly a word? Good night, and please don't give up on my little blog. I will wait for...

Andy's blog 2.0. God Sightings →. October 2, 2011 · 8:45 am. Converted to New Life. A sermon on Philippians 3:4b-14 for the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Preached on October 2, 2011, at the First Presbyterian Church of Whitestone. I’ve always felt connected to God and the community of faith and can’t really point to a single large moment of powerful transformation or conversion like Paul could. So what do we do with all this? How do we make sense of Paul’s conversion alongside our own faith journeys?

In the same way, the Spirit comes to help our weakness. We don’t know what we should pray, but the Spirit itself pleads our case with unexpressed groans. The one who searches hearts knows how the Spirit thinks, because it pleads for the saints, consistent with God’s will. So what are we going to say about these things? But in all thes...

A Wandering Spirit: January 2010
http://sophiemarian.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. I was on the phone with Tim Tam from the Word at Work. A counselor from Canada (but who volunteers a lot of her time to work/teach in Belize) came down to do the teaching/training. My roll was mainly to be there as a resource, to lead devotions, and pray. The Mission and Evangelism team at the church wanted me to travel with someone, so my friend and roommate Michelle agreed to go with me. We landed in Belize and then made the drive to Belmopan. Michelle didn't know it before we...

A Wandering Spirit: December 2009
http://sophiemarian.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. Merry Christmas to all! As 2009 is coming to a close, I can say that it has been a wonderful Advent and Christmas season. I love the anticipation of the coming Christmas, studying the traditional Biblical texts, singing Christmas hymns, and just the festivities and togetherness that comes with the Christmas season. There were a few fun parties at the church - one for the office volunteers where Santa made an appearance. The FPCA staff had our annual Christmas party,. This is ...

http://sophiemarian.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 23, 2009. A busy (but wonderful) start to 2009. I'm not really sure how so much time has passed since I last posted to my blog - the last thing I had posted about was the 5:00 Family Friendly Christmas Eve Service at FPCA. Well, since then, there has been much activity. Christmas morning I had an 11:00am flight to head to North Carolina, but I had some time in the morning to hang out with the McClellands. This is Stacy and I in our pajamas that two of the youth group girls gave us. Stacy ...

A Wandering Spirit: Introducing the Rev. Becca Moran
http://sophiemarian.blogspot.com/2010/02/introducing-rev-becca-moran.html
Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Introducing the Rev. Becca Moran. This past weekend I was able to travel out to California to celebrate with Becca as she was ordained to be a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church. I arrived late Thursday night, and Friday morning Becca took time to model her new robe and stoles for us (we were hanging out at her parents house in San Pedro) - the purple one was my favorite. But I thought the shoes really made the outfit. One of my other favorite part...
